Now I Know Why S.Coups Loves This Place
Just like how it took me two and a half years before I finally visited Woozi’s old practice spot, it also took me that long before I went to S.Coups’ favorite restaurant in Daegu. But when I had the chance to visit a friend in Gyeongsan, I knew I couldn’t miss it — it was just one bus away!
And now… I finally understand why S.Coups loves this place so much.
How to Go to Dutum Charcoal Grill (두툼참숯초벌구이)
I personally came from Yeungnam University (영남대학교) and rode just one bus to get here. But for those coming from Seoul, I checked Naver Maps to find the most convenient route, and here’s what it shows:
1. Take the KTX from Seoul Station to Dongdaegu Station.
2. From Dongdaegu Station, go out through Exit 3.
3. Walk a bit toward Dongdaegu Station Crossing Bus Stop and take Bus 814.
4. Get off at “Across from Dong-A Department Store Suseong Branch” (동아백화점수성점건너).
5. Walk for about 400 meters, and you’ll find Dutum Charcoal Grill.

The Place Is Full of S.Coups’ Face
You’ll honestly think this restaurant is owned by S.Coups himself — his face is everywhere! From the entrance to the tables, you’ll find photocards, fan arts, and photos of him.
There are also pictures of the owners with S.Coups, which makes the whole restaurant feel like a mini Seventeen museum.
As a Carat, I couldn’t stop smiling while eating — it’s such a fun and heart-fluttering experience. Definitely a Carat photospot!
The Meat Is So Good (No Wonder He Keeps Coming Back)
Now I get it — this is why S.Coups keeps returning here. The meat is honestly so good! You can order by portion or choose one of their Carat Sets, which the owners prepare with their best cuts.

We ordered Carat Set 2, which I think costs around ₩60,000 (we paid ₩75,000 because we added another serving of meat). The set is perfect for two people if you’re not heavy eaters. But since my friend and I are total meat lovers — and the meat was amazing — we couldn’t resist ordering more.
The Cold Noodles (Naengmyeon) Changed My Mind
I used to not like naengmyeon, maybe because the first one I tried elsewhere didn’t taste great. But here? It completely changed my mind.
Their mul naengmyeon (물냉면) is so refreshing, slightly tangy, and goes perfectly with the grilled meat. I’m not kidding when I say — I’d go back just for this. It’s that good!
The Owners Are So Kind
The owners made the experience even warmer. They kept checking on us, grilled the meat for us, and refilled our lettuce whenever it ran out. They always smiled and made sure we were enjoying the food.
They speak a little English, but most of the time we communicated in Korean (with my limited skills). Still, their kindness was easy to understand without words.
