A Fangirl’s Heart in Feedspot Top 20 Korean Lifestyle Blog

This is definitely a good start for my blog. If you have read my About page, I have started blogging since 2009. But since I was not that much aware of what blogging really is, I keep on stopping. In 2014, I decided to blog again with “Musician Traveller” as my blog’s name. But as I was reading my blogs, I decided to rebrand into my current – A Fangirl’s Heart.

While I was checking on some other Korean Lifestyle blogs, I saw Feedspot website. I just randomly submitted my website link and to my surprise I received an email few days later saying that my blog is now part of Feedspot Top 20 Korean Lifestyle Blogs, Websites & Influencers in 2020.

There are a lot of Korean Lifestlye bloggers out there and I never thought that I will be part of a list with these bloggers. With this, I am really inspired to write more informative blogs about my fangirling life, travels, food I get to eat, and anything under the K-community and fangirling.

Just a little background of A Fangirl’s Heart

In 2017, I opened a Facebook page “A Fangirl’s Heart”. The main reason? My parents and friends get mad when I post my “fangirling” stuff on my own Facebook account. Simply because they are not into the K-culture. So instead of posting my fangirl feels on my wall, I decided to create this page which became my spazzing platform.

A Fangirl’s Heart started growing and a lot of people are appreciating the posts there. In 2018, I have finally decided that A Fangirl’s Heart will not only be my spazzing platform, it will also serve as my blog page where I share news, reviews, travels, and food blogs (anything related with the K-culture). In 2019, I transferred to this domain www.afangirlsheart.com (before were musiciantraveller.com then iamdelosreyes.com).

Now, I’m trying to do my best to be updated on this blog. I have goals for this blog and will really try to reach these step by step. Being part of Feedspot Top 20 Korean Lifestyle Blogs, Websites & Influencers in 2020 is one step to reach my goal. That’s why I’m very thankful for them.

KDRAMA Review: W Two Worlds (2016)

Turning four years this 2020, W has still remained as one of my favorite (maybe my most favorite) KDramas that were released. At least, the KDramas I have watched. Staying at home during this quarantine period, I had this sudden urge to re-watch "W: Two Worlds". Maybe because I'm missing Lee Jong Suk so much.

The reasons why this drama is very special because it was released exactly on my birthday and also it is the first KDrama that I really watched even if it's still an on-going series. Ever since before, I always let the drama end first before watching it.

There are still a lot of people who hasn't watched W. There are different reasons why - they don't like the genre, they heard that the ending wasn't that good, or they just don't find the time to watch it yet. But whatever reason it is, I hope you find my review useful if you're planning to watch it.

Like what I always say, my reviews are my opinions. You may have different views on it. But I will try to be objective on some parts. This review will contain spoilers, so read at your own risk.

About W: Two Worlds

Plot: It is a fictional love story of Kang Chul, the rich and handsome lead character from the webtoon "W", and Oh Yeon Joo, a surgeon in the real world. The writer of the webtoon wanted to end it by killing Kang Chul but Kang Chul stopped it from happening and dragged Oh Yeon Joo in his world. It is a story about finding existence, falling love, and sacrificing.

Things I like about W: Two Worlds

The story

First episode of this drama made me attached to it already. Maybe because it is not a typical love story wherein both leads are humans or both leads are from the same world or time. It is a story about a webtoon character and a real human being.

When I was watching this in 2016, I was still active in writing fan fictions. That's why I was very much interested with the story. Although Oh Seung Moo was the one who drew and published the story of W, it was Oh Yeon Joo who created the character of Kang Chul. She even mentioned that this is his ideal type.

I'll be separating this in two parts: Episodes 1-8 and Episodes 9-16. (Although I wanted to tell the whole story per episode, I won't since this is not a recap but a review.)

The first part of the drama were the happiest (so cherish it while you can especially Episode 7) moments in W. Although there have been conflicts already, like Kang Chul knowing his true being, I still considered it as the happiest moments. Because after that, the story gets heavier and heavier.

During this part, the story is building up - Kang Chul said Oh Yeon Joo is the key to his life which made Oh Yeon Joo come back and forth from the real world to the webtoon. Oh Yeon Joo knowing all the things about Kang Chul, she decided not to tell him about it and continued lying about her existence. But eventually, Kang Chul found out and was able to go to the real world and met Oh Seung Moo, Yeon Joo's father and at the same time the author of W.

Slowly shifting to the next part, Oh Yeon Joo suddenly became the heroine of the webtoon since he married Kang Chul (in papers) so that she could get out of the prison. Although they may not be real couples, they still showed affection and love towards one another.

The next part of the drama are the heaviest because the killer finally revealed himself. There were a lot of fighting, gun shooting, hiding, almost dying on these episodes. But the most painful, for me, is the forgetting part wherein the story reset and Kang Chul no longer recognizes Oh Yeon Joo. How frustrating it is that the person you once shared happy moments with no longer have those memories.

This is why I liked the story. I'm a person who enjoys getting a lot of emotional pain. I can't really count how many times I have cried in this drama until the very last episode.

The artwork

As a Multimedia Artist and a frustrated manga artist, I am very much satisfied with the illustrations presented in the drama. If only it was a real manhwa, I would have both all the books of it. The manhwa characters really look similar with the original casts which makes it really interesting. I would really want to meet the artists who drew these characters.

The funny extras

Dr. Park is probably my favorite extra in this drama. He represents me as I am watching it. All his reactions with what is happening in the drama is a common reaction of a real fanboy. He shows how disappointed he is or how happy he is with the webtoon. Like us, there are times we get disappointed with a certain story but there are also times where we like it.

Aside from him, I also like Soo Bong, tho I don't really know if he is counted as an extra because he still played a great role there. I just love how he overreacts on things. I also like how he wears glasses without lenses. Well, I just find it funny.

Lee Jong Suk's and Han Hyo Joo's chemistry

I like Lee Jong Suk and as a typical fangirl, there are times where I don't like his on-screen partner. But with Han Hyo Joo, I wouldn't even care if they'll end up in real life. I really love their chemistry even if Han Hyo Joo is older than Lee Jong Suk. As much as possible, I still prefer the guy older than the girl. But the two of them changed my perspective.

As long as they look good for me, then that's it! Lee Jong Suk's and Han Hyo Joo's pairing will always be one of my favorites.

Kang Chul himself

While watching it for the second time, I finally know who I really love. Although I am a fan of Lee Jong Suk, I can say that I love Kang Chul more than him. Just like some other girls out there, Kang Chul is the perfect (IMAGINATION) partner one can ever have. He is handsome, intelligent, kind, rich, and funny at some times. Not only that, he is also good in fighting, in handling business, in fashion, everything. He's just perfect.

I compared my love for Kang Chul and with other Lee Jong Suk's characters and definitely, I'm falling in love with his character Kang Chul more.

Things I somehow disliked with W: Two Worlds

The ending

When I first watched it, I was really really really disappointed with the ending. Although I'm happy that they ended up with each other (which I really like), but I felt like there could be something more. The ending seemed so fast paced. It's like they squeezed everything to the last episode.

Plus, I also researched about it. The writer has written different endings for it. And the one the ending they choose - Kang Chul comes to the real world and tells Oh Yeon Joo that his father stayed in the webtoon (just like what he wished for). But in the series, Kang Chul just gave the photo of Oh Seung Moo to Yeon Joo without any explanation which made me think that Yeon Joo knew that his father disappeared.

I was expecting more for its ending. It's not that memorable for me. The flow of the story is very intriguing yet the ending is very predictable. But anyway, I still love W.

Conclusions and Lessons

Life will always give us problems

It's not always a happy moment. There will come a time where we'll experience a lot of hardships. Sometimes, we don't even know why. Although we may feel that it is unfair, we can always ask why. And instead of just giving in to the problem, let's fight the problem.

Mistakes happen

Kang Chul admitted how stupid he was during the first part of the story and mentioned that he will never do the same mistake again. Instead of letting his emotions act, he thinks first.

A parent's love will always be on top

Just how we see at the ending of W, Yeon Joo's father sacrificed himself for Yeon Joo's sake. He rather disappear so that Yeon Joo will spend the rest of her life with Kang Chul. No matter how much he hated his own work, he realized that Kang Chul is a good choice for Yeon Joo and that he will take care of her no matter what happens.

There will never be a perfect drama - YET. There will be flaws. But the thing is, as long as the writer and the director are very satisfied with what they have made, I guess that's the most important thing. If you're proud of your work, it will still be the best.

If you love watching dramas that are heavy to the heart, W is one of my most recommended dramas.

KDRAMA Review: Itaewon Class (2020)

Itaewon Class has really been the talk of the town even before its release, not only because it’s a Park Seo Jun series, but also because it is based from another famous web comic with the same name. I personally haven’t read the whole web comic (I only saw some parts of it) so I do not have the idea on what the story will be.

But the main reason why I badly want to watch this drama is because of Kim Donghee. I liked him ever since A-Teen (his debut web drama). Aside from the fact that he is really good-looking, he is also from JYP Entertainment. As you know, I’m a JYP stan. I really wanted to see more of him and how he grows as an actor.

Just a quick reminder, this review is purely my opinion where you may agree or disagree. Also, this may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Plot: Itaewon Class is a story of an ex-convict named Park Saeroyi who had a roller coaster life after getting expelled from school because he punched a bully and also when his father died in an accident. Not giving up on himself, he established a mini pub in Itaewon and challenges the family who caused all his misfortunes.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT ITAEWON CLASS

It has a strong start

I am that kind of person wherein I’ll continue to watch a drama if I got hooked with it on the first three episodes. Well, it would be better if I got hooked with the first episode like in Angel’s Last Mission: Love. Let’s just call it, first impression?

The first scene of the drama already made me like it. Jo Yi Seo has been spitting out words that I wanted to say. A lot of people were able to relate to it. And then on the next scenes, the story of Park Saeroyi’s life started and how this whole Itaewon Class started.

It tackles a lot of social issues

First one, bullying – physical, verbal, and emotional. During Park Saeroyi’s expulsion from the school, we can already see different kinds of bullying.

The physical bullying was Jang Geun Won pouring milk and smashing the head of his classmate. Not only that, Jang Geun Won also bullies his little brother whenever something bad happens to him. But these physical bullying happened because Jang Geun Won was verbally and emotionally abused by his father. This shows what happens to the children if their parents treat them like that.

On Episode 15, Jang Geun Won mentioned why he ended up being that. People may say that “we have a choice, and his choice was to be a bad guy” but I somehow understood him, though I do not want to tolerate his wrongdoings. For a person who has never been loved by people around him, his mind has been blocked that stopped him from doing what is right.

Second, looking lowly on the ex-convicts. Most of the time, when we knew that the person has been to jail, we became afraid of them. As much as possible, we don’t want to get involved with them. I, too, admit that there are times that I felt uneasy dealing with ex-convicts. But you know what? Itaewon Class had a different approach. This series showed how the lives of ex-convicts are and how they can change. Seung Kwon for example. He had a hard time changing but eventually became one of the most loved character as the reaches the end.

Third, the transgender issue. Ma Hyun Yi, the main cook of DanBam is a transgender in this story. When his workmates knew about this, they were shocked and some felt a bit disgusted, Jo Yi Seo and Seung Kwon. This is the typical reaction of people. But eventually, they learned to accept Ma Hyun Yi’s decision with his life.

Fourth, racism. During the time when Tony was about to enter the club, he wasn’t permitted to enter because he is from Africa, even if he is half Korean. He was degraded because of his looks. And of course, Jo Yi Seo as the first one to tell it to him. It only shows how racist some (or I guess most) people are. But good thing, there are still some people who don’t care about it and still be friends with other nationality.

Fifth, family issue. Jo Yi Seo stopped going to school and helped Park Saeroyi with his pub. Her mom got mad at her and even asked her to leave the house. There are times our parents want us to finish studying because through this we’ll have a decent life. But Jo Yi Seo proved that even if she didn’t graduate, she is capable of a lot of things. Besides, life is all about how you handle it and not about the technical things the book teaches us.

Sixth, and I guess the main issue, you can easily be thrown away if you have no power. Park Saeroyi was expelled and got into prison because his enemy was way powerful than him. The real murderer for his dad’s death did not immediately get punished. Why? Because of power.

Another one, when Jangga bought the building that Park Saeroyi was occupying. This shows that people with money, power, and fame, can do anything to a person without those things. Good thing, Park Saeroyi is a person full of motivation and he did not allow Jangga to crush them fully.

Soo Ah’s character

A lot of people say that Soo Ah’s character never changed. She did not improve or anything. There was no development. But I disagree with it. There was a development we just didn’t see it. On Episode 15, Soo Ah suddenly gave her resignation to Jangga Co. Along with it is record of all the manipulations that the company did.

Throughout the story, she was portrayed as someone who is afraid of making her own decisions, afraid of choosing Park Saeroyi, a selfish one. At first, I also hated her for that. She has a choice; I always say that. And last Episode 15, I suddenly realized why she stayed with Jangga Co. She stayed there to see all the bad doings of the company and slowly ruin the company at the end. Just like the saying goes, “Make your friends close, and your enemies closer.” She stayed there because she wanted to give back to Mr. Park for all the good things that he has given her.

Soo Ah is doing something we never know because we didn’t see it, that even Park Saeroyi didn’t see. That’s why he was not able to wait.

Park Bo Gum’s cameo

Probably the only thing that I liked in the ending of Itaewon Class was Park Bo Gum’s appearance as a chef applying for Soo Ah’s new restaurant. Aside from the fact that he is so handsome, I found out that Soo Ah deserved someone better. After being dumped by Park Saeroyi because he could not wait more (well, that’s how I see it), I know Soo Ah deserved more.

Seeing Park Bo Gum’s appearance, I was lowkey hoping that Soo Ah finally found her forever.

WHAT I SOMEHOW DISLIKED WITH ITAEWON CLASS

I never liked Jo Yi Seo and Park Saeroyi’s love story

Most of the series I have watched shows that the main leads always end up with each other. Well, it’s the cliché. And I hate it how Itaewon Class made it into this cliché love story. Although I am lowkey shipping Saeroyi with Soo Ah, I also believe that it would be better if Saeroyi do not end up with anyone, because I believe he deserves more.

Not until we reached Episode 14. On this episode, third to the last, Park Saeroyi suddenly realized that he really liked Jo Yi Seo. Like what some of my friends say, “I’m not buying it. It’s too late.” Just because you’re thankful for someone, doesn’t mean you’re in love with them. I just didn’t get it how he completely abandoned his love for Soo Ah because of that reason.

I don’t know why, but I just don’t feel any chemistry between the two. Though I already know that they will end up with each other because of the “drunk kiss” that happened on the first few episodes (can’t remember what episode sorry).

Tony’s character

As far as I know, Tony wasn’t part of the webcomic, which means they added him on this series. Yes, he is the grandson of the rich woman who invested on Park Saeroyi’s company, but I wanted to see more from his character.

He became a part of DanBam and then suddenly disappeared. If his role was just to show the racism part, well, they were able to portray that. But I’m looking for more than that. Look at how the character of Lee Ho Jin (the bullied classmate) was portrayed. He suddenly became someone important to Park Saeoryi. I was just a bit disappointed with Tony’s character. I feel like something lacks.

Jang Geun Soo being the enemy

Maybe because I like Kim Donghee? Or maybe because he’s just too cute and too innocent-looking to be an antagonist. When he transferred to Jangga Co., I still can’t get mad at him. A lot of people say that Kim Donghee’s acting lacks. Probably, yes. But his face is just too innocent that being the bad guy doesn’t suit his image.

I’ll be waiting for his next Netflix series to see if his acting really improved.

CONCLUSIONS AND LESSONS

There are actually a lot of lessons we can learn from this drama. I may not be able to list them all but here are some of the things I got in mind.

The person you bullied will always remember everything.

While bullies tend to forget the things they have done, sometimes even the person, the bullied one will always remember everything. Just like how Ho Jin was bullied by Geun Won. He remembered it even if years has passed. The bullied ones will never forget all those bullying.

So be kind. That’s all.

Sometimes, all you need is a little push.

Park Saeroyi never even thought of having a revenge towards the Jangga Family (or even have plans when he gets our of the prison) not until Ho Jin and Soo Ah pushed him to do it, in a good way of course. In an episode of Itaewon Class, it was seen that Ho Jin visited Park Saeroyi when he was in the prison. He was able to talk to him and told him his future plans to destroy Jangga. He even asked Saeroyi about his plans. That’s when Saeroyi started to think.

One of the turning points here was when Soo Ah told Saeroyi that he wanted a rich man. Soo Ah never really wanted a rich man, besides she is an independent and strong woman. She is not that kind of a woman. She told that to Saeroyi to push him to be the better him, to achieve what he really wanted. Saeroyi, who loves Soo Ah so much will do everything to be the guy “he thought” Soo Ah liked.

When you’re intimidated by those lower than you, you’re the actual prey not the predator.

We can see here that Mr. Jang was so afraid of Park Saeroyi’s existence even if there’s a huge gap between the two of them. He is richer and has an established company. Meanwhile Saeroyi, is just starting his small pub. He made sure that he knows Saeroyi’s steps so that he can already have his attack. But come to think of it, why will Saeroyi be a big threat for Mr. Jang? It only means that Saeroyi is controlling Mr. Jang.

Same goes in real life, if you feel intimidated by a person, you’re being controlled by them.

Life is unpredictable.

The person you love right now may not be the person you will end up now. The people whom you are friends with doesn’t mean they’ll stay being friends with you until the end. You may be poor now, but who knows? You might get rich sooner.

No one really knows what will happen in life. All we need to do is to remain kind to the people around us and never doubt your friends who really helped you and trusted you all the way.

It is how we use our time that matters.

Just like how Seung Kwon mentioned. Everyone is given the same amount of time, but everyone differs on how they used their time. Park Saeroyi used his time to improve himself while Seung Kwon went back to his old life.

Use your time wisely. You cannot return the time that passed.

You don’t need an explanation or a validation from other people.

Like how Ma Hyun Yi overcame his fear of revealing his true self, you are you and you don’t need a validation from other people. You love to write but other people tell you that you shouldn’t write because you’re not a graduate of Communications Art. Tell them, “I am who I am, and I don’t need your validation. I will write because I love writing.”

Same goes to those people who tell you how you lived in the past. Living an ugly life before doesn’t mean you will continue to live on that kind of life. Every people have a choice and chance to change. So, don’t let other people dictate who you are.

My honest thoughts and conclusions:

I am just a bit frustrated with Itaewon Class. I was really looking forward to it even before. But this drama has failed me. Well, this is my opinion. It’s probably because it didn’t go as I wanted it to go. The first part was okay. But then, the second half, it started to go down.

I honestly wanted to drop it already, but I still forced myself to finish it because I have already surpassed half of the episodes.

In the end, Itaewon Class, as a whole, is still good series (especially if you’re not a choosy person). I have my disappointments with the drama, but I also learned a lot from the drama. How about you guys? What are your thoughts about Itaewon Class?

CDRAMA Review: A Little Thing Called First Love (2019)

A Little Thing Called First Love March 12, 2020

Ever since the news that Lai Kuan Lin is having his acting debut, I have been looking forward for it. Just in case you don't know, Lai Kuan Lin is actually my bias in Wanna One. Even if Wanna One has disbanded, I still continue to support the members.

Anyway, news reported that Lai Kuan Lin will be starring on the Chinese adaptation of my favorite Thai movie, Crazy Little Thing Called Love. This made me more excited. My favorite Wanna One member + my favorite movie = a total combination. But because I was a bit busy with my internship, I was not able to watch it while it was still on-going. I just finished watching it last February 2020.

There may be some spoilers here on this review.

About A Little Thing Called First Love (2019)

Title: A Little Thing Called First Love ( 初恋那件小事)

Plot: It is a story of an ordinary girl (Xiao Miao Miao) who develops a crush with the famous guy (Liang Younian) in school. Because of her feelings for him, she decided to change herself for the better. She studied hard, fixed her physical appearance, and improved her skills.

Fact: Like what I have mentioned earlier, this is an adaptation of the Thai movie, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, starring Mario Maurer and Baifern Pimchanok which was released in 2010.

Things I like about A Little Thing Called First Love (2019)

They maintained most of the key scenes from the original

These are just some of the scenes that they have presented, there were a lot more in the series, which made me really really happy. This drama served as an ultimate throwback from those good times.

The gradual change of Xiao Miao Miao

Since this a series, it was able to show Miao Miao's change in a gradual way. It first started with her teeth, then her skin and hair. It didn't happen overnight. In fact, during these changes, she even encountered having allergies on her faces.

They added new love stories

Because I already know what may happen to the two leads, I became more focused on the other two love teams - He Xin and Lin Kai Tuo, and Wang Yi Chao and Fang Xiao Yue. They weren't in the original film which only means their story is new. Those two love teams added the thrill to this series.

There were times when I got bored with Liang Younian and Xiao Miao Miao but good thing these other two love teams were there to make me laugh.

He Xin and Lin Kaituo

He Xin is Xiao Miao Miao's friend and Liang Younian's cousin. Lin Kaituo is Liang Younian's step-brother (they are not really blood-related). In their love story, He Xin is the first one who likes Lin Kaituo but unlike Miao Miao, He Xin is a bit of a strong woman.

She always confesses to Kaituo, followed him, does anything for him. But they always fight because Kaituo has anger issues.

Yi Chao and Xiao Yue

On this love team, it's the other way around. The guy (Yi Chao) was the one who keeps on following Xiao Yue. Both of them are Liang Younian's friends. That's why there are times when Younian became the mediator of the two.

Bonus: Love story between their professors

Another fun thing in this series is that, they also added a love linear (Lu Peng doesn't like anyone) between the professors. It's just so funny that everyone here ended up with nobody yet they still have these feelings.

The series was a bit of a slice-of-life

One of the things that I noticed here was that Miao Miao's mother and Younian's father never liked the course or major that they were taking.

Miao Miao's mother wanted her to take Architecture because it's the best in the country and may bring lots of money to her in the future but Miao Miao wanted to take fashion design. On the other hand, Younian's father doesn't want him to take Architecture because of what happened to Younian's mother. He doesn't want his son to experience such accidents too.

This issue is already a common thing. Most of the times, parents never liked the courses or majors that their kids take because of some reasons. But at the end of the day, it's the kid who will live his or her own life. So I hope parents will just be supportive.

Another thing here is the issue between Younian and Kaituo. Since Younian's mother died and Kaituo's mother is divorced, Younian's father and Kaituo's mother decided to be together which was against their children's will. And that bruised Younian's and Kaituo's friendship.

One of the most memorable thing that happened in the original was that Nam didn't know that Shone actually liked her. And that's the main point of the story. Unfortunately on this series, it was clearly seen that Younian liked Miao Miao.

When the two of them started dating (which never happened in the original), I somehow lost my interest in them. I don't know but I started skipping some parts because I find it a little cringey already. The pool part, yes it was there, but I didn't feel much pain in watching it. It wasn't that touching. And I also don't know why.

I never felt that they were in college

Maybe because of cultural differences? But all these time, I felt like they were just in high school. In the Philippines, once you're in a big university, you'll barely interact with your seniors unless you joined their club, you took advance classes, or your senior had to retake another subject. But here, it can be seen that ALL seniors and juniors interact with each other which I found it a little bit odd.

Plus their activities were a bit of a high school thing. I don't know. Maybe it's really how college works there.

Conclusions

A Little Thing Called First Love (2019) made me remember all the good things of having a crush. This series made me want to go back to high school and feel the puppy love again. Being in a situation where everything is becoming serious, I guess it's really time to think about the fun things that happened before.

This drama is a very chill story. There's no intense drama. There may be problems but not to the point where you'll cry so hard. If you want to watch something that is not that heavy, I recommend this drama. It will just make you fall in love all over again.

Female KPOP Songs for International Women's Month

March is known to be the International Women's Month wherein it is dedicated to celebrate every women's achievements in whatever aspects of life. It is also a time where we (females) give encouragement to our fellow girls.

On this women's month, I'll be sharing to you some of my favorite Women Empowering KPOP songs presented to us by our favorite female solo artists and groups.

Woman by BoA

To start with my playlist, BoA's Woman is the first on the line. Released last October 24, 2018, Woman is a groovy pop track which tells people (especially to women) how good it feels to be a woman. This song is all about a confident woman who focuses on her strengths instead of her weaknesses.

During her showcase in Seoul, BoA mentioned that there are times women feel discouraged and lack confidence. So she wanted to create a song with a message about finding each woman's definition of beauty and not the society's definition.

DALLA DALLA by ITZY

"Don't measure me by your standard alone. I love being myself. I'm nobody else."

JYP's newest girl group, ITZY, has definitely showed that they are different from others when they released their debut MV, Dalla Dalla. Released last February 11, 2019, Dalla Dalla is an electropop song which encourages people to be yourself. It tells us that it doesn't matter if we are not conforming to the standards of the society as long as we are sure of who we are and what we can do. Being different can sometimes be a good thing.

I Don't Need A Man by miss A

"I can be good without a man."

How inspiring it is that this song is really for every independent woman out there. In the world's standard, woman, if not always most of the time, are underestimated. They think that we can't live without a man, that a man will be the one providing us with money. The world is changing. Women can provide for themselves even without the help of a man.

Miss A's song "I Don't Need a Man" is a great representation of independent women in the world and why people should be proud of it.

Superwoman by Minzy

Superwoman is about Minzy's personal experiences, how she experienced different kinds of hardships, how she cried, fell down, yet stood up again. These experiences made her a superwoman.

Minzy wanted to tell everyone out there that life may be hard but we should keep on going because we are strong and we can definitely do it. Just like how the song says, "Every time I wanted to cry, I got up again." Cry if you must but make sure to stand up again, wipe those tears and prove the world that you can do it.

Yes I Am by MAMAMOO

Yes I Am by MAMAMOO is probably one of the best songs for women out there.

"If I were to describe myself, I'm a confident woman." This is MAMAMOO's message to all the girls out there. This song says that we don't really have to follow the trends of the world. We just have to be confident with ourselves, even if we have flaws.

Girls like Us by TWICE

"Girls, do what you want. You're doing the right way."

From TWICE's Fancy You album, "Girls like Us" is a song written by their leader, Jihyo, who wants to encourage other females to dream and to direct their life how they wanted it to be. It also reminds everyone that you are not alone in this journey. Your fellow female is there to help you, and run with you.

Solo by Jennie

When we first heard the news of Jennie will be releasing her solo song, which has a title of SOLO, we thought that it was a song about her going on a solo career. But it's not. Solo is a song about leaving a relationship that is no longer happy.

There are times in our lives where we thought we can no longer shine bright if our lover has left us. But Jennie proved that she even shined brighter by going solo.

Noona Fan Attended NCT DREAM SHOW in Manila Unexpectedly + Memorable Moments

CONCERTS/FANMEETINGS March 03, 2020

First of all, I am not posting this one to boast, instead, I am posting it to share how thankful I am for this unexpected happening.

Last 2019, NCT Dream first came to Manila for the Friendship Concert which was held at the MOA Arena. I was lucky enough to see them, not only on stage, but also during the press conference. One of the most memorable happenings there was Jaemin (my bias) looked and smiled at my camera.

Early this 2020 (if I am not mistaken), PULP Live World hass announced that NCT DREAM is coming back to Manila for their solo concert. And yes, this time, Haechan will be present. As you have noticed on the picture above, Haechan was not present because he was taking a break due to his injury.

STORY TIME...

I planned on not attending NCT Dream's concert in Manila. Main reason? I have no money to buy their ticket since Php 5,000 was the cheapest ticket price and I can only afford around Php 2,000. Since I already met them last 2019, I know I am already satisfied with it.

My plans for the weekend were to go to my classmate's house for a sleepover, meet my GOT7 Squad since one of us will be attending NCT Dream's concert, another sleepover with them, and the trip to Enchanted Kingdom with the GOT7 Squad.

But things did not go the way we planned. Because of the NCOV, one of my friends from GOT7 Squad (the same person who was suppose to watch NCT Dream) was not able to fly to Manila because her parents did not allow her. Because she was sad that she wouldn't be able to meet us (she's from Cebu by the way), she forgot everything about her ticket.

The next day, Saturday, we were chatting with each other until we reached the point were I asked her if she will not sell her ticket for NCT Dream. It costs her around Php 8,000+ and yet she won't get to attend.

But instead of selling the ticket, she just transferred it to me. Good thing TicketNet's ticket can be printed at home. She told me that it will just be her early graduation gift for me. It was already around 12nn by the time we have decided that I'll be attending on her behalf. Since the concert starts at 3PM, I immediately prepared myself and went straight to New Frontier Theater for the concert. Good thing, I arrived an hour earlier.

Memorable Moments during the Concert

There are actually a lot of memorable moments during the concert but I just chose my top three.

1. NCT Dream speaking Tagalog in the cutest way possible

I know NCT Dream is cute but I never knew they could be much cuter. My noona heart is definitely shaking at those moments. Not only did they speak Tagalog during their opening segment, but they keep on speaking Tagalog even at the very last segment which they barely did during Friendship Concert.

2. NCT Dream showcasing their talents

We all know how talented these boys are. But they proved that they could go higher than that. Haechan's high notes are still playing inside my head. This was the first time I heard Haechan's high notes live and yes, he is singing them live.

Another one was Chenle's piano skills. When he was doing some embellishments, I suddenly remembered the time I used to play the piano. I can say that he is way better than me. I would love to attend Chenle's piano recital if that happens one day.

Another talent that I saw was Jaemin's ability to create and produce his own video. During the last part of the concert, Jaemin mentioned that he has a gift for the fans and it was a video that he made himself. Although some parts of the video had sound problems, I still enjoyed its concept.

I also noticed Renjun's acting skills during the VCRs. I hope one day I'll get to see him on a web drama or even a TV drama.

3. NCT Dream melting my heart because of their visuals

I am a Jaemin-biased when I entered New Frontier Theater but my baby Jisung caught my attention the whole concert. He's growing up too well! I can't believe that he was that cute child in Chewing Gum. To be honest, he was the most handsome for me that night.

But still, I'll end up with my original bias, Jaemin. His smile will always pull me back. That smile was the main reason why I ended up liking him so much. Just a backstory, the members that I was really looking forward to see was Jeno and Jisung because they are known to be the "Little EunHae". But when Chewing Gum was released, Jaemin's smile caught me.

I don't know if I'll get to see them again soon, and I don't know if there will be a new line-up of NCT Dream soon, but still I'm thankful that I have met them and been able to be a part of this concert.

Super thankful for Ate Chol for giving me her ticket instead of selling it to me. I am sad that you weren't able to see NCT Dream (and of course, US, GOT7 Squad T_T), but I know God has a better plan. See you next year in Korea!
