SEVENTEEN Jeonghan's Gift for Carats
Despite being in the military, Jeonghan made sure Carats won't miss him that much so he prepared different contents for fans to enjoy. One of these contents is his solo single "Better Half (ft. Omoinotake).
The song dropped on January 27, 6PM KST. And even though I have a full-packed schedule, I made sure to listen to it immediately. Little did I know this song will be one of my most replayed song for this year (I'm saying it already). Trust me, I have replayed this song for a couple of times already.
After the release of Better Half, it immediately climbed the Bugs real-time chart, securing the number one spot by 11 PM. And by the next morning, the song had charted on iTunes in nine different countries, including Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand.
Why ‘Better Half’ Feels So Special
What makes Better Half so special is its message. Even when physically apart, the lyrics express a constant and unwavering love, perfectly captured by Jeonghan’s soothing and heartfelt vocals. Carats may not have been able to witness Jeonghan perform during SEVENTEEN’s Right Here tour, but this song beautifully represents the deep connection and love shared between him and his fans. Even in his absence, his voice reaches us like a warm embrace, reminding us that distance can never break the bond we have.

Featuring the Japanese piano trio Omoinotake, the song carries a delicate yet powerful sentiment that lingers long after the music fades. For those who don’t know, Omoinotake is best known for Ikuokukonen (幾億光年 / 수억광년), the theme song of the Japanese drama Eye Love You.
The best part of this collaboration is that a Japanese version of Better Half was included in Omoinotake’s new album which was released last January 29! They also dropped a special behind-the-scenes studio recording video on Omoinotake’s official YouTube channel.

I can't help but feel even more excited for what's next for Jeonghan and SEVENTEEN. The group is currently captivating global audiences with their RIGHT HERE world tour, set to continue in Jakarta (Feb 8-9) and Bangkok (Feb 15-16). With each step, they continue proving why they are one of the most influential acts in K-pop.
