As a fangirl, I personally wanted to have a solo photo of me with my K-idols. But that dream is somehow impossible especially when my idols are too famous that they no longer come to my country. Or when they do, the ticket prices are not that affordable. Sometimes, during fan meetings, when you're lucky enough you can get a photo with the idol. But sadly, I have no luck with these things.
Instead of feeling sad about these things, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong made a way to somehow made my dreams come true (well, partly lol).
Madame Tussauds Hong Kong
In case you haven't heard of this place, Madame Tussauds is a wax museum founded by Marie Tussaud of France. They have different branches in the whole world. The Hong Kong branch have more or less 100 wax figures composed of different Western and Asian heroes, artists and personalities.
How to go to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong?
There are actually different ways on how to go to the location. But what I am going to share to you is how my cousin and I went there from our hotel, Rambler Garden.
- Go to Tsing Yi station. Rambler Garden offers a free shuttle ride to MTR Tsing Yi station. Just check at the lobby for the time. If you missed the shuttle, you can ride a taxi going there which can cost you about 30HKD
- From Tsing Yi station, go to Hong Kong Station.
- Walk towards the Central Station and ride Bus 15 to The Peak.
How can I buy tickets to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong?
I bought our tickets from their website which costs me 220HKD per ticket, around 1500PHP. If you do not have a card to use in buying, you can download the Paymaya app and just load it. They accept any Mastercard or Visa cards.
If you do not want to buy online, you can also just walk-in there. The prices are more expensive if you walk-in than to buy online.
The Start of the Fangirling
One of the main reasons why I love this place is that most of my favorite artists have a wax figure. If you have read my previous blog posts, you'll definitely know how much of a K-addict I am. Madame Tussauds Hong Kong have a spot just for Korean artists.
TAO. I can't consider him a Korean artist because first, he isn't a Korean. Second, he already left his Korean group, EXO. But if it wasn't for EXO, I wouldn't know him so he is still a part of my K-fangirling life. With just a first glance at the photo, you might actually think that I am really hugging Tao.
Kim Soo Hyun. I bet you know him from the series "My Love from the Stars" and "The Producers". Kim Soo Hyun is one of the best actors I have watched. I knew him since the first Dream High series and I really like him as an actor. He can make me laugh, love and cry all at the same time.
Lee Jong Suk. Who wouldn't know Lee Jong Suk? He is one of the best actors in his generation. I really loved him especially on his character in "W Two Worlds". It was just so sad that I wasn't able to see him during his fanmeeting in Manila.
Bae Yong Joon. The Titas and Titos of KDrama will definitely know him. He is the actor in Winter Sonata. I also remembered him as a part of Dream High with Kim Soo Hyun.
Super Junior's Siwon. Of course, I wouldn't miss this chance of having a photo with the one and only Choi Siwon. I started becoming a fan of KPOP when I got into the Super Junior fandom. Although Siwon isn't my bias, I still love him. I love all the members of Super Junior.
TVXQ. I ain't really a huge fan of TVXQ but I knew them since they are same company with Super Junior. I have watched some of their music videos and also live performances. They are really good! Singing live while dancing is really hard. That's why I appreciate the two of them.
2PM's Nichkhun. I have met Nichkhun and was able to have a photo (it was a group photo by the way) with him during his press conference of tvN's One Night Food Trip Season 2 which was held in Manila. Since I became a JYP stan, I also knew him even before.
Western Personalities
Benedict Cumberbatch a.k.a. Doctor Strange
Robert Pattinson
President Barack Obama
The Beatles
There are still a lot of wax figures there and you can't be as creative as you can when taking photos with them. Sometimes, there are a lot of people so you really have to wait until you get the chance to have a photo with them.
I may not have a photo with the real artists but these wax figures made me feel that I have a photo with them because it was so realistic. I promise to go back to this place soon because they will be releasing new wax figures. GOT7's Jackson will be having his very own wax figure which will be exhibited starting this July 2019.
