My 14-year old self is so proud

If you have read one of my blog posts about me being a fangirl, you would know that I started becoming a fan of K-Pop because of Super Junior. I became a fan in 2010 but it took me 5 years to be able to see them live. It also took me 12 years to become a VIP in a concert.

And now, another achievement.

After 14 years of being an ELF, I have finally watched Super Junior in South Korea. Never have I imagined that I will be able to watch Super Junior live in South Korea. I only wanted to see them before.

Pre-Concert

Super Junior's Super Show Spin-off: Halftime in Seoul was held last June 22, 204 at the KSPO Dome. KSPO Dome reminds me both of good and bad times. But for this time, it's for the good memory.

It was raining on the day of the concert but that didn't stop us from taking photos outside and enjoying some activities.

There were merch booth and Superstar SM booth. There were also some photo spots placed around KSPO Dome. I did not do any activities because first, the line on the merch was so long. Second, I am not in the mood to play Superstar SM. And lastly, the line for the photo spot was also long. So, I just decided to take a photo with the KSPO Dome sign.

Compared to the other shows that I have watched, there were no verification so you can just enter the venue as long as you have a ticket.

Concert Proper

This was my view. To be honest, I don't want to be in the floor area. Even though it was seated, I know I will still have a hard time seeing them because the seats are not elevated. But then, my preferred seats were already taken when I checked so I just decided to go for the floor seats.

I really love the opening of the concert. They are so witty. Plus, you can definitely see Super Junior's connections in the industry.

Favorite part of the concert was when they performed the solo songs and made it into a group song. Also, when they used their past fights and created it into a skit to introduce the next unit performers.

If only the people in front of me were not so tall, I think my view was quite okay. Unfortunately, the one in front of me is tall so I had a hard time seeing them when they are on the main stage.

But it's okay because I still enjoyed the performances and segments as well. I just noticed that time flew so fast because I felt like I just sat down and then the concert is already over.

I can't wait to see them again next year for their 20th Anniversary! For sure there will be a lot of fun things that will happen on the concert.

Lovely Runner Opened a Pop-Up Store in Busan

If you have been reading this blog, or following me on my social media, you will know that I visited Lovely Runner's Pop-Up Store in Seoul during its first day of opening. Because of too much people who visited the pop-up store, a lot of the items got sold out immediately and eventually some fans were not able to enter even if the queued early.

With this, Withmuu, the main handler of the merchandise, posted on their Twitter account (now called X) that they will be opening a pop-up store in Busan as well as online sales. Since I am living in Busan, plus my friends wanted to visit it too, I decided to visit the pop-up store again.

Lovely Runner Pop-Up Store in Busan Experience

Compared to my experience in Seoul, the Busan one was much better. First, because I have a friend who is with me. So, it's not boring to wait while queueing. Second, my queue was much better than in Seoul. I arrived almost the same time in Seoul but in Busan I got a queue of 390+, half of my queue in Seoul. I was able to enter around 3pm. And lastly, the place was much bigger so it's easier to even wait outside.

Plus, I was able to have a decent photo outside the pop-up store.

Difference between the Seoul and Busan Pop-Ups

There wasn't much of a difference between the two pop-ups. The set-up was almost the same. The thing that I noticed though was they already put a clear shelf outside the pop-up store so that people can see the merch already.

There were no shelf like this in Seoul mainly because the space was small. But I like the fact that they placed this here.

Just like in Seoul, you will also receive this banner if you visit the pop-up store. I was so happy that this time, I got Im Sol's banner. So now, I have both Sunjae and Im Sol.

For the inside of the pop-up store, the set-up was almost the same. It still looks like Im Sol's room. But probably much livelier?

I'm not quite sure if I didn't notice it in Seoul, but here in Busan I think they placed more photos which made this area a little bit more livelier.

These merch that I bought were not actually mine. Some of my friends just asked me to buy for them. I was actually planning on buying the eco bag since I really wanted it. But I stopped myself from spending money because I still need to pay for my dormitory this month.

KDRAMA REVIEW: Lovely Runner (2024)

Lovely Runner is that comfort KDrama that I never thought I needed

Ever since I moved here in South Korea, I haven't been watching that much KDramas. Weird right? I'm on the land of KDramas but I haven't been watching them. Mainly because I was so busy recently and there's no drama that has really caught my attention. (Note: I have watched a few dramas but still not that many compared to when I was in the Philippines)

I was already so excited with this drama when the news that Kim Hye Yoon is going to be the lead for this drama. I knew Kim Hye Yoon in Sky Castle and eventually became a fan of her during Extraordinary You. Knowing that this is another romantic comedy drama, I am really excited for this. Little did I know that this drama will really consume me so much (financially included lol).

What I like about Lovely Runner

It's a drama that removed my Monday Blues

I usually hate Monday because it means that I'm going to have classes again and the weekend is over. But since this drama airs Monday and Tuesday, it really made me look forward for Monday. This drama is so fluffy that it can really remove your stress. Not only that, this drama can really make you laugh and giggle even in the middle of the night.

The chemistry of Kim Hye Yoon and Byeon Woo Seok is no joke

There are a lot of dramas that have good story, great actors but the chemistry is just so-so. That's why I really liked this drama because Kim Hye Yoon and Byeon Woo Seok have a great chemistry. Despite the height and age difference, you really won't feel much gap between them. They're acting as if every emotions were real.

The OSTs are so good

I really did not expect that Byeon Woo Seok's voice is good.

I totally believe that Lovely Runner's OSTs will win the OST of the Year on award shows because who would have thought that a band in the drama will reach up until the Top 4 of Melon? That is the power of Lovely Runner. The OSTs were so good that the general public love them so much.

Even their physical OST album reportedly broke the records of the most pre-ordered OST album in history. Mind you, their OST album has a higher price than most OST albums but still they did it.

Kim Taesung

That's it. That's the post. Kim Taesung, the greenest of all the greenest second male lead.

Okay. I admit. At first, he is not the "good guy" but when he met the present Sol, he was inspired and eventually improved himself. If only Sunjae didn't do a great job on being a loyal one to Sol, I would have probably wanted Taesung for Sol so bad. Im Sol and Sunjae couple will remain my superior couple while Taesung is mine.

I also love how Geonhee portrayed Taesung. You can really see the emotions in his eyes.

It's just THAT drama that came at the RIGHT time

If probably I'm not on the mood with fluffy dramas, I might have not liked it. But then, this drama was just released just when I needed it the most. I love everything has fallen on the right time. There were some delays with this drama - no actors accepting the script, change in directors, re-filming - but it was released right on time. If it was released earlier, I think it won't be as hit as it is now.

No one really expected for this drama to be so huge, not even the actors. But because it is on the right timing, it became bigger than we all have imagined.

What I somehow disliked about Lovely Runner

The lack of background story of some casts

I will be honest. I felt a little bit disappointed with the ending. It even made me feel like, "Oh, that's it?" Not because I didn't want a happy ending, but because I felt like there is something else missing. The killer here just died without knowing what really was his intention.

I read somewhere on Twitter saying that the actor playing the role of the killer in Lovely Runner said that the killer doesn't really have a special background. He just wanted to kill people. Although that's a common thing, I still think it would have been better if there was a little background about him and also if he did not just die by being hit by a truck.

Same goes with Taesung's character. I believed his character has more to offer. I remember when watching this drama, I was thinking, "What would be Taesung's role in this drama?" Although he became a police in the present and was able to track the killer, I still needed more of him.

There were a lot of interesting fan theories in the internet and it would really be nice if those theories were real. But at the end, nothing really mind-twisting plot.

Overall Comments

Despite the fact that I somehow disliked how it ended, I can still say that I super enjoyed Lovely Runner. It really deserves all its recognition now. If given the chance, I would really want to rewatch it over and over again. It's a fun drama that can really remove your stress away.

Lovely Runner Pop-Up Store in Seoul

Lovely Runner opened a pop-up store in Seoul

Due to the intense popularity of Lovely Runner locally and internationally. tvN announced that they will be having a pop-up store for Lovely Runner.

I was blessed enough that the time the schedule of the pop-up store is the same time I'm going to Seoul. Meaning, I no longer have to go back to Seoul again for this. Since I decided to go on the first day of the pop-up event, I allotted the whole day for this because for sure a lot of people will go.

The pop-up store was held at the B2 of The Hyundai Seoul. Queueing for this pop-up starts at 9am-10:30am but there were a lot of people lining up already as early as midnight. Most of the people lining up at that time are people selling items in Yangdo or Assistance. There were some fans who lined up early too.

This is one of the times I felt tired as a fangirl. I arrived at the queuing site at around 8am and the line was already long. When the queueing started, I got a 652 queue.

I thought that it will be the same with SEVENTEEN. When I went to the Artist-Made Collection by SEVENTEEN Season 2, I got a queue of 500+ but was able to enter the pop-up store by 12:30pm. But in this case, I was able to enter by 6pm.

While waiting, I decided to just take photos of the outside of the pop-up store.

They really made it look like Im Sol's house in the outside. It's really so cute. But I wasn't able to take good photos because there were a lot of people in the surrounding. The staff were also asking us not to stay on the place because it's so narrow and a lot of people are passing by which may cause danger.

But I just continued on walking and take pictures when I can.

I even met my former boss, Ms. Kring, at the venue. She was planning to go to this pop-up as well but she lined up at the wrong line so she wasn't able to get a queue number. So she just asked me to buy for her which will be given away to her followers.

What's inside the pop-up store?

After waiting for hours, I was able to enter the pop-up store. Before entering, I already knew that the item I was supposed to buy is already sold out. But the items that Ms. Kring asked me to buy are still available. So, those were just my goals.

When you enter, they will give you a random banner. You will either get Im Sol or Sunjae. For me, I got Sunjae's banner.

When I entered the pop-up store, it's really just small that's why it took so long for people to enter. But even if it was small, you can still feel that they put an effort to it. They made the inside of the pop-up store like Im Sol's room. It was full of merch. It made me miss my room in the Philippines.

You can see the merch first before buying it. Once you are able to take photos and videos with these, you can line up to order. They will also give you a paper where you can mark the items you will buy.

Once you reach 50,000 krw, you will receive a random photocard.

To be honest, I got emotionally and physically tired from this pop-up. Making me sometimes question my decisions in life. But still, I'm still happy that I was able to help other people.

They will also be having a Busan pop-up store. To be honest, while writing this now, I don't want to go to the pop-up store anymore since I feel so tired already. But because some of my friends are asking me to buy them some items, I might just go. Let's see what will my experience be in the Busan pop-up.
