Global vs. Korean Interpark - Which one is better?

Interpark Ticketing

I have received a lot of questions about ticketing in South Korea. I have experienced ticketing with Interpark, Yes24, and Melon Tickets. Of all the ticketing I have experienced probably I have only failed twice - Byeon Woo Seok's ticketing (KR Interpark) and DAY6 Christmas Concert 2023 (Yes24 Global).

But I won't be talking about these ticketing sites now. I'll be creating a separate blog about this on the next few weeks (or months depends on my schedule lol). For this blog, I will be talking about the difference of Global Interpark and Korean Interpark. Both of them may be the same Interpark but they have a lot of differences.

Global Interpark

Global Interpark is the international version of Korea's Interpark. This website offers English, Japanese, and Chinese languages. As far as I know, all the concerts in the Korean Interpark are also available in the Global Interpark. There are just some events like pop-up events that are not available for purchase on the Global Interpark.

Since it offers different languages, it is easy to navigate for foreign fans.

Update as of July 1, 2024: Global Interpark now requires everyone to verify their identity on the website in order for you to buy a ticket on the website.

Before, it was not yet required to verify their identity. But I guess after Caratland's ticketing, they decided to push through with this verification since a lot of people are using different abnormal ways to buy tickets.

Pros of using Global Interpark:

1. If you're a foreigner who doesn't know Korean, using the Global Interpark is easier since everything is in English (or Japanese or Chinese). You will have an easier time understanding what is written.

2. Regarding with payment, Global Interpark accepts credit cards issued outside of South Korea - VISA, Mastercard, JCB, Amex and Unionpay. So, you can use your cards in your country.

3. You can just claim your ticket on the venue. So, you wouldn't feel afraid when the tickets are shipped.

Cons of using Global Interpark:

1. It crashes so much. I remember my friends were not able to secure tickets on Caratland 2024 because Global Interpark keeps crashing and they can't even queue.

2. You have the whole world against you.

Korean Interpark

Korean Interpark is the website that Koreans use. And yes, it's pure Korean. And if you change the language, it will redirect you to the global site. I like booking tickets here because it has a countdown option unlike in the Global Interpark wherein you're going to need another site for the countdown.

Update on Korean Interpark:

From July 8, 2024, Interpark Ticket Service's self-identification policy will be changed to prevent fraudulent reservations.

- You can authenticate yourself at any time through the 'Membership Information Modification Page>Certify Now', and your self-authentication is valid for one year from the final self-authentication completion date.

- Customers who have expired self-authentication can proceed with the reservation only by re-authentication, so please double-check your self-authentication status.

Since there has been a lot of bot reports recently, Interpark is trying its best to strengthen its security.

Pros of using Korean Interpark:

1. It's way faster than Global Interpark. I remember when I was trying to secure for SEVENTEEN's Caratland 2024, I already got a queue but my friends from the Philippines only received error notice.

2. For the payment, there is an option to use the 무통장 wherein Interpark will create a virtual bank for you and you can pay for the ticket within 24 hours after reserving it.

3. This is not confirmed tho... but based from my friends' stories, sometimes there are seats available for the Korean Interpark but was not available for the Global Interpark.

Cons of using Korean Interpark

1. If you're an international fan and is not living in South Korea, you will not be able to create an account. Only those living in South Korea can create an account here in the Korean Interpark since it requires your Registration ID, phone number, and address. And every details should match.

2. For the payment, you cannot use credit cards issued overseas. You can only use the Korean credit cards.

Global vs. Korean Interpark

I have experienced ticketing with both websites. Although I have experienced the lowest queue number in Global Interpark (around 2000+ for Caratland 2023), I can still say that Korean Interpark is much better. My queues in the Korean Interpark for Seventeen events are usually around 70k-250k but I was still able to get tickets.

Korean Interpark loads much faster than the Global Interpark which gives you a higher chance of getting low queue number. There is only one queue number with Global and Korean Interpark. It's not a separate queue number. But there is a higher chance to access the site earlier in the Korean Interpark.

How are other people who don't live in South Korea be able to get Korean Interpark? I personally don't know the answer to this one. I also don't know how they were able to get those when they need a lot of details that matches. So better, ask those people.

My First DAY6 Fanmeeting: I Need My Day in Seoul

I attended my first ever DAY6 Fanmeet

After being a fan since debut, this is my first time attending a DAY6 fanmeeting. DAY6 did their fan meetings before in South Korea and other countries like Thailand. But as far as I can remember, they never did a fan meeting in the Philippines. Therefore, I haven't experienced attending their fan meeting. (although I am present on their concerts).

To be honest, I was again contemplating whether to attend this fan meeting or not. Mainly because of the money and schedule. DAY6 fan meeting is on the same weekend with Super Junior's concert. Although it would be good since I just need to go to Seoul once, but that also means I have to go back to Busan either Sunday evening or Monday morning since I have a Monday class.

So, I still tried to buy a ticket. If I have bought a ticket, then I will go. If not, then not. When I was at the PC bang trying to buy ticket, my time is almost over but then YES24 website is still not working. So, I was like, "I give up." But then, while eating dinner, I still try to connect using my phone and ended up being able to buy a ticket on the third floor. The universe allowed me see DAY6 once again.

DAY6 Fanmeeting

The venue for the fan meeting is the same as the venue for their Welcome to the Show concert. That's why I was already familiar with it. And since I don't plan on lining up for the merch and I have no other MyDays to meet at the venue, I just decided to enter around less than an hour before the fanmeet starts. Although I don't recommend it since it was hot and I wanted to rest more before the fanmeet starts.

I was not really active with DAY6 & Myday community therefore I didn't know that there was a DAY6 dance challenge going on in Tiktok. So, this was my first time seeing it at the fanmeeting. And it was really cute because they danced it with their character mascots.

What I love about their mascots is that they really portray the character of the members as well. Like they share the same braincells.

But the most memorable happening for me in this fanmeeting is when Sungjin sang a short part of Afraid. Of all the DAY6 songs, even if I have my other favorites, Afraid is the song that I really wanted to hear live. That's why I hope DAY6 will include this song in their upcoming concert. I don't know but Afraid holds a special memory for me.

Aside from that, I also love the fact that DAY6 showcased their individual stages. This fanmeeting is really different from a concert. Plus, I really love Dowoon's goofiness.

Another memorable experience is I saw my name on the screen. At the last part, they flashed all the names of the My Day 4th Generation and seeing it means so much for me.

For this fanmeeting, I didn't video much since I just wanted to enjoy the moment. I only had few fancams and photos of the events but this will continue to stay in my heart and mind forever. I can't wait to see DAY6 again soon.

PH ELF Attended Super Junior Super Show Spin-off: Halftime in Seoul

My 14-year old self is so proud

If you have read one of my blog posts about me being a fangirl, you would know that I started becoming a fan of K-Pop because of Super Junior. I became a fan in 2010 but it took me 5 years to be able to see them live. It also took me 12 years to become a VIP in a concert.

And now, another achievement.

After 14 years of being an ELF, I have finally watched Super Junior in South Korea. Never have I imagined that I will be able to watch Super Junior live in South Korea. I only wanted to see them before.

Pre-Concert

Super Junior's Super Show Spin-off: Halftime in Seoul was held last June 22, 204 at the KSPO Dome. KSPO Dome reminds me both of good and bad times. But for this time, it's for the good memory.

It was raining on the day of the concert but that didn't stop us from taking photos outside and enjoying some activities.

There were merch booth and Superstar SM booth. There were also some photo spots placed around KSPO Dome. I did not do any activities because first, the line on the merch was so long. Second, I am not in the mood to play Superstar SM. And lastly, the line for the photo spot was also long. So, I just decided to take a photo with the KSPO Dome sign.

Compared to the other shows that I have watched, there were no verification so you can just enter the venue as long as you have a ticket.

Concert Proper

This was my view. To be honest, I don't want to be in the floor area. Even though it was seated, I know I will still have a hard time seeing them because the seats are not elevated. But then, my preferred seats were already taken when I checked so I just decided to go for the floor seats.

I really love the opening of the concert. They are so witty. Plus, you can definitely see Super Junior's connections in the industry.

Favorite part of the concert was when they performed the solo songs and made it into a group song. Also, when they used their past fights and created it into a skit to introduce the next unit performers.

If only the people in front of me were not so tall, I think my view was quite okay. Unfortunately, the one in front of me is tall so I had a hard time seeing them when they are on the main stage.

But it's okay because I still enjoyed the performances and segments as well. I just noticed that time flew so fast because I felt like I just sat down and then the concert is already over.

I can't wait to see them again next year for their 20th Anniversary! For sure there will be a lot of fun things that will happen on the concert.

KDRAMA REVIEW: Lovely Runner (2024)

Lovely Runner is that comfort KDrama that I never thought I needed

Ever since I moved here in South Korea, I haven't been watching that much KDramas. Weird right? I'm on the land of KDramas but I haven't been watching them. Mainly because I was so busy recently and there's no drama that has really caught my attention. (Note: I have watched a few dramas but still not that many compared to when I was in the Philippines)

I was already so excited with this drama when the news that Kim Hye Yoon is going to be the lead for this drama. I knew Kim Hye Yoon in Sky Castle and eventually became a fan of her during Extraordinary You. Knowing that this is another romantic comedy drama, I am really excited for this. Little did I know that this drama will really consume me so much (financially included lol).

What I like about Lovely Runner

It's a drama that removed my Monday Blues

I usually hate Monday because it means that I'm going to have classes again and the weekend is over. But since this drama airs Monday and Tuesday, it really made me look forward for Monday. This drama is so fluffy that it can really remove your stress. Not only that, this drama can really make you laugh and giggle even in the middle of the night.

The chemistry of Kim Hye Yoon and Byeon Woo Seok is no joke

There are a lot of dramas that have good story, great actors but the chemistry is just so-so. That's why I really liked this drama because Kim Hye Yoon and Byeon Woo Seok have a great chemistry. Despite the height and age difference, you really won't feel much gap between them. They're acting as if every emotions were real.

The OSTs are so good

I really did not expect that Byeon Woo Seok's voice is good.

I totally believe that Lovely Runner's OSTs will win the OST of the Year on award shows because who would have thought that a band in the drama will reach up until the Top 4 of Melon? That is the power of Lovely Runner. The OSTs were so good that the general public love them so much.

Even their physical OST album reportedly broke the records of the most pre-ordered OST album in history. Mind you, their OST album has a higher price than most OST albums but still they did it.

Kim Taesung

That's it. That's the post. Kim Taesung, the greenest of all the greenest second male lead.

Okay. I admit. At first, he is not the "good guy" but when he met the present Sol, he was inspired and eventually improved himself. If only Sunjae didn't do a great job on being a loyal one to Sol, I would have probably wanted Taesung for Sol so bad. Im Sol and Sunjae couple will remain my superior couple while Taesung is mine.

I also love how Geonhee portrayed Taesung. You can really see the emotions in his eyes.

It's just THAT drama that came at the RIGHT time

If probably I'm not on the mood with fluffy dramas, I might have not liked it. But then, this drama was just released just when I needed it the most. I love everything has fallen on the right time. There were some delays with this drama - no actors accepting the script, change in directors, re-filming - but it was released right on time. If it was released earlier, I think it won't be as hit as it is now.

No one really expected for this drama to be so huge, not even the actors. But because it is on the right timing, it became bigger than we all have imagined.

What I somehow disliked about Lovely Runner

The lack of background story of some casts

I will be honest. I felt a little bit disappointed with the ending. It even made me feel like, "Oh, that's it?" Not because I didn't want a happy ending, but because I felt like there is something else missing. The killer here just died without knowing what really was his intention.

I read somewhere on Twitter saying that the actor playing the role of the killer in Lovely Runner said that the killer doesn't really have a special background. He just wanted to kill people. Although that's a common thing, I still think it would have been better if there was a little background about him and also if he did not just die by being hit by a truck.

Same goes with Taesung's character. I believed his character has more to offer. I remember when watching this drama, I was thinking, "What would be Taesung's role in this drama?" Although he became a police in the present and was able to track the killer, I still needed more of him.

There were a lot of interesting fan theories in the internet and it would really be nice if those theories were real. But at the end, nothing really mind-twisting plot.

Overall Comments

Despite the fact that I somehow disliked how it ended, I can still say that I super enjoyed Lovely Runner. It really deserves all its recognition now. If given the chance, I would really want to rewatch it over and over again. It's a fun drama that can really remove your stress away.

A PH Carat Attending Follow Again to Seoul Day 1

To be part of this amazing event is a dream come true

Not long ago, I attended Follow Again to Incheon Day 1. Although my seat at that time was at the 5th floor, I was still happy because it's SEVENTEEN who I am watching. Just a few weeks after their Incheon concert, SEVENTEEN had their Follow Again to Seoul which was held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

For this concert, I am so happy I was able to grab an R-Seat which was much better than my seat in Incheon.

Seoul World Cup Stadium

It is actually my first time going here at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. Everything is new to me so I literally have no expectations. My friends and I decided to take a photo at the back part because for sure there are a lot of Carats in the front part of the stadium. At least here, we can have a solo shot with the venue name and the concert banner.

We arrived at around 10am but I was shocked that there were a lot of people already who are at the venue. Meanwhile in Seoul, there were few people at this time and few people lining up for the Carat Zone.

So, we immediately went to the Carat Zone to claim our photocards. For this time, I got Vernon. If you have watched my mini vlog in Incheon, you will know that I traded my DK pc for a Vernon pc. Since I already have a Vernon pc, I decided to trade Vernon to whoever member (although I honestly wanted to have Hoshi, The8, or Seungkwan). Good thing, a Carat wanted to trade her Woozi to Vernon. So, I am happy to do so.

Concert Proper

This is my view during the concert. And I am so happy because I am close to the extended stage. I can clearly see them when they go to this part. Plus, I can take a better fancam now thanks to my Samsung S24 Ultra.

The concert started a little bit later than 6pm. It was still a bit bright when it started. But after a few performances, the sun has finally set down and we can clearly see the lightsticks.

Compared with the Incheon stop, this venue is really much better. Aside from the fact that a lot of Carats can attend, the stage was much closer to the fans wherever seat you are. I really hope their next concerts will be here as well.

Special Moments during the Concert

Aside from the fact that I got to see them much better now, what I liked the most is that they performed the songs for their new album. Their album was just out last April 29 so they performed these songs prior to the release. It was very special because we were the first people who were able to hear those songs live.

I have been seeing tweets that they will perform these songs but at the same time I had doubts that they will perform it on Day 1. That's why I was so happy and surprised with this.

For this concert, there were no drones. Actually, there was supposed to be a hot air balloon but because of the wind, that event was cancelled. It would have been fun seeing the hot air balloon and I'm sure SEVENTEEN is also excited for that. But for everyone's safety, it is a right move to cancel that.

I actually have no words to say right now. I am so happy and at the same time feeling a little bit sad because I'm missing SEVENTEEN. I am looking forward to seeing SEVENTEEN again on Caratland this year and on the opening of their new tour.

While waiting for them, I will just stream their new album. I'm excited for my album to arrive as well.
