Today's New K-Drama Sizzle Reveals First Looks at Upcoming Series Set to Keep Audiences Hooked Throughout the Year
After a thrilling 2024 that saw breakout Korean series like Moving, A Shop For Killers, The Worst of Evil, and The Tyrant taking home numerous awards, and introduced fans to other unmissable stories such as Lightshop Keeper, Gangnam B-Side, Red Swan, and more, 2025 on Disney+ promises to deliver even more excitement. Audiences can expect heightened action, drama, mystery, and betrayal, with a powerful lineup of heart-pounding Korean series featuring top stars, all set to premiere throughout the year.
Following a wave of exciting reveals at the 2024 Disney APAC Content Showcase, Disney+ is giving global audiences an enticing first look at several upcoming Korean series for 2025, including:
Unmasked (January 15)
Starring the beloved Kim Hyesoo, along with Jung Sungil and Joo Jonghyuk, Unmasked follows an investigative news team whose careers are on the line after airing a controversial story. With time running out, they must solve a 20-year-old cold case involving a missing famous actor to save their jobs.
Hyper Knife (March 19)
Featuring an acting masterclass by Park Eunbin and Sul Kyunggu, Hyper Knife follows Seok, a brilliant neurosurgeon pushing the limits of medical science. After crossing her mentor and losing her license, Seok continues performing illegal surgeries, only to find her mentor seeking her help for a high-stakes case.
Knock-Off
In his Disney+ debut, international star Kim Soohyun joins Cho Boah in this gripping drama about the counterfeit goods trade. Knock-Off tells the story of Sungjun, a man whose life is shattered by the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis, as he climbs the ranks of the counterfeit market to rebuild his life.
Nine Puzzles
In this dark criminal mystery, Kim Dami and Son Sukku return in Nine Puzzles, where criminal profiler Yoon Ena faces off against a serial killer in a twisted game. Teaming up with her biggest critic, fellow investigator Kim Hanseam, Ena races to stop the killer before they strike again.
Low Life
Starring Ryu Seungryong (from Moving) alongside Yang Sejong and Lim Soojung, Low Life is set in 1970s Korea and follows an uncle and nephew struggling to make ends meet. Tasked with retrieving an ancient treasure, they must contend with fierce competition from other treasure hunters to claim their fortune.
Tempest
Set in modern-day Korea, Tempest follows Munju, a former ambassador to the United Nations, and Sanho, an international special agent, as they uncover a conspiracy threatening the stability of the Korean peninsula. This Hollywood-Korean crossover series features a star-studded cast, including Jun Gianna, Gang Dongwon, John Cho, Michael Gaston, Spencer Garrett, Christopher Gorham, Alicia Hannah-Kim, and Jacob Bertrand.
The Murky Stream
The first Korean historical drama on Disney+, The Murky Stream is set during the Joseon Dynasty, in a lawless land. It follows Jang Siyul, a gangster hiding his past; Jung Chun, who dreams of becoming an honest officer; and the wise Choi Eun. Starring Rowoon, Shin Yeeun, Park Seoham, and Park Jihwan, this series promises intrigue and drama.
The Manipulated
Set to debut later this year, The Manipulated follows Taejung, a man wrongly imprisoned for a crime, who discovers that a mysterious figure named Yohan is behind his fall. Fueled by revenge, Taejung sets out to make Yohan pay, starring Ji Changwook, Doh Kyungsoo, Lee Kwangsoo, and Jo Yoonsu.
