Na PD Joins Netflix: What Fans Need to Know

February 04, 2025

Na Young-seok PD teams up with Netflix for an original variety show!

If you love Korean variety shows, you've probably heard of Na Young-seok, or Na PD. He's the mastermind behind hit shows like New Journey to the West, Three Meals a Day, and Youn's Kitchen. And now, he's teaming up with Netflix for a new show!

At the recent "Next on Netflix 2025 Korea" event, Netflix announced a huge lineup of upcoming Korean content. But the biggest surprise? Na PD’s first-ever Netflix show! For a variety show fan like me who loves to watch shows on Netflix, this is a big deal for me.

Why This is Exciting

I knew Na PD for his creative and fun shows. After leaving KBS for CJ ENM, he started making fresh and unique variety contents. His YouTube channel, channel fullmoon, has millions of fans who love his unscripted and hilarious videos. Now, with Netflix’s support and budget, I believe that his creativity can reach an even bigger audience!

What Kind of Show Can We Expect?

One of Na PD’s latest hit projects, Nana Tour with SEVENTEEN, gave fans a fun and heartwarming travel experience with the K-pop group SEVENTEEN. The show showcased Na PD’s signature humor and creative challenges, making it one of my instant favorites. With this, I wonder if we could we see another idol-focused variety show on Netflix. The possibilities are definitely endless!

Netflix hasn’t shared many details about the show yet, but we know Na PD loves experimenting. His past shows had amazing cast chemistry, funny challenges, and heartwarming moments. I'm guessing that we might see new formats, international guests, or even a fresh take on travel and food content. The excitement is real!

Netflix’s Big Move into K-Variety

Netflix has already experimented with travel-based reality content through Twogether, a show featuring Lee Seung-gi and Jasper Liu. The two explored different countries and completed missions. While Twogether leaned more towards a travel adventure format, it showed that Netflix is open to unique, unscripted storytelling. This aligns well with Na PD’s signature style, which blends humor, heart, and creative challenges. With his expertise, we might see a fresh take on travel variety shows that appeal to both Korean and global audiences.

Netflix already had huge success with K-dramas like Squid Game and The Glory, but variety shows are a new challenge. By bringing Na PD on board, Netflix is making a serious effort to expand into K-variety. And let’s be honest, if anyone can take Korean variety shows worldwide, it’s Na PD!

Final Thoughts

If you’re a fan of Na PD or Korean variety shows, this is something to get excited about. His fun, heartwarming, and unpredictable style is going global and we can’t wait!
