Honest Thoughts about Doom at Your Service

March 11, 2022

Doom at Your Service has been in my KDrama watchlist since it was released. Mainly because of Seo In Guk. But because I was so busy with work last year, I wasn't able to watch this drama while it was ongoing. Recently, while I was doing the photo id holders for my small business, I decided to watch this drama.

I actually don't think it's a good timing though. If you haven't watched this drama, there will be some SPOILERS here.

My Honest Thoughts About Doom at Your Service

A combination of Extraordinary You and Angel's Last Mission: Love

While watching this drama, this gives me the vibes of the two dramas I mentioned. It has similarities with Extraordinary You when it comes to them wanting to change their destiny, the female lead has a terminal illness, and the memory loss thing-y. Meanwhile for Angel's Last Mission: Love, maybe because this is also a story of a human being and a deity.

Extraordinary You and Angel's Last Mission: Love are some of my favorite K-Dramas. That's why I have high expectations with Doom at Your Service. I somehow thought that this would become one of my favorites. But sadly, it didn't make it. I just don't have the connection with this drama.

Side Love Story is what I'm always looking forward for

I am more interested with this love triangle. In fact, I smiled more and cried too. They are the main reason why I continued watching Doom at Your Service. I love Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young but I just don't have a connection with them. They look cute together, though.

Anyway, I am a bit torn on who to choose too. I mean, I like them both for her. But during the last parts, I'm leaning more on to Cha Joo Ik because he is straightforward with his feelings while Lee Hyun Kyu is a bit of a coward.

SF9 Dawon doesn't even need to make that much effort

SF9 Dawon plays the role of Tak Dong Kyung's younger brother, Tak Sun Kyung. And for me, he doesn't need to make that much effort in acting because he does it naturally. The way he gets irritated, the way he jokes, or cries, I just really see Dawon. And he's so cute!

But one of my favorite scenes with him was when he was crying as he was bringing her sister to the emergency room. You can clearly feel the emotions in his acting. I'm just so proud of Dawon!

Expected plot but still worth watching

If you know me personally, you know that I love watching fictional dramas like this. It's just that maybe I have watched too much that the plot of this drama has been quite predictable already. I mentioned this earlier but I think I made the wrong choice of watching this drama right now since I'm not into this kind of drama these days. I am more of into a slice-of-life or a cliché romcom.

But if you're going to ask me if I enjoyed the drama, well, yes, I still enjoyed it. Because if I haven't I would have stopped and dropped it. It's just that I think this drama would have been better if the plot wasn't that predictable or if I was able to at least relate with the main character.
