First of all, I am not posting this one to boast, instead, I am posting it to share how thankful I am for this unexpected happening.

Last 2019, NCT Dream first came to Manila for the Friendship Concert which was held at the MOA Arena. I was lucky enough to see them, not only on stage, but also during the press conference. One of the most memorable happenings there was Jaemin (my bias) looked and smiled at my camera.

Early this 2020 (if I am not mistaken), PULP Live World hass announced that NCT DREAM is coming back to Manila for their solo concert. And yes, this time, Haechan will be present. As you have noticed on the picture above, Haechan was not present because he was taking a break due to his injury.

I am a Jaemin-biased when I entered New Frontier Theater but my baby Jisung caught my attention the whole concert. He's growing up too well! I can't believe that he was that cute child in Chewing Gum. To be honest, he was the most handsome for me that night.

So Ji Sub's fan meeting in Manila is probably what I consider a miracle fan meeting. I've known So Ji Sub since 2005 because of his drama "Memories in Bali", which is by the way one of my mom's favorite drama. I was around 9 years old that time! Who would have thought that after years So Ji Sub came and visited the Philippines for a fan meeting?

Last March 16, 2019, So Ji Sub had his first ever fan meeting in the Philippines, brought to you by Pulp Live World. Since I am a photographer and writer (well, I believe I AM! haha), I was able to be a media for this event. Special thanks to PKCI.

What are the Most Memorable Happenings during So Ji Sub's Fan Meeting in Manila?

Seeing the Titas of KDrama

I was around the venue at around 4:30 in the afternoon because I still need to claim my ID for the event. The ambiance around the venue was different from the past concerts and fan meetings that I have attended. There were fewer people outside the venue and I barely see anyone my age.

As I was waiting for Kuya Bryan (one of the PKCI officers), I saw this group of Titas. Like yeah, they were almost same age as my mom! The cool thing about them is that they were also wearing a special shirt for the fan meeting. I also got to hear some of them saying that they have waited for years!

Almost all the people I saw there were older than me. I can't remember seeing someone younger than me (well except for other media people). But what is cool seeing them is that age doesn't really matter. You can be a fan for the rest of your life! I suddenly thought, "Will I be like them in the future?" Who knows?

Live Performances of So Ji Sub

So Ji Sub opened the fan meeting with a song, "I Can't Smile Without You". I honestly thought that because the fans were mostly Titas the screaming will not be that too loud. But I was wrong. IT WAS LOUD! The Titas really let go of their hidden feels!

During the second part of the fan meeting, So Ji Sub, together with the group named Soul Dive, perfomed iKON's Love Scenario. It's really fun to watch him do most of the raps! Of course, my hidden iKONIC feelings came out at that time and sang with them.

Everyone loves to share their blessings!

The huge difference during this fan meeting is that the fans are not greedy. How did I say that? There was a portion in this fan meeting wherein So Ji Sub asked the fan the meaning of "Mahal Kita" to avoid the penalty. If So Ji Sub answered it correctly, then the fan would have a signed shirt. But if So Ji Sub answered it wrong, then he has to pick a penalty. The penalties were wearing angel's wings, wearing a flower crown, doing a morning call, and more.

Who wouldn't want to have a signed item by your idol, right? But guess what. The fans gave So Ji Sub wrong answers so that he would get a penalty and everyone would see him do those penalties. The fan meeting became happier because we manage to see So Ji Sub's cute side as he wears the angel's wings and flower crown while doing some heart aegyo.

Seeing the Other Side of So Ji Sub

Whenever I hear So Ji Sub's name, I get always remember him as a tough guy (like his character in Battleship Island). But this fan meeting showed me another side of him. In real life, he was actually a shy person. His laughs were so precious which makes everyone fall in love with him.

Another great thing is that Ms. Kring Kim was the host. Well, I consider her as the best host since she knows what it feels to be a fan. And that feels gave her a high edge to other hosts.

I am so thankful that I became a part of So Ji Sub's fan meeting in Manila. I don't know when he'll come back again but I can finally say that I saw my ahjussi live!

After Wanna One's last concert in Manila last September 2018, I never thought I'll get the chance to see any members again. For a broke international fan, seeing my favorite idol once is already a blessing. What more if I get to see him more than once, right?

The first time I saw Park Ji Hoon was Wanna One's first fan meeting in Manila. Luckily, I was able to win a hi-touch with them. The second time I saw him was is Malaysia. Well, yeah, I flew all the way to Malaysia to see Wanna One. And the third time was during Wanna One's concert in Manila, like what I said earlier, which happened last September 2018.

I actually did not imagine seeing Park Ji Hoon (or any Wanna One member) again after the last concert. When it was announced that Park Ji Hoon is coming to Manila for his solo fan meeting, I felt frustrated because I badly want to see him again. But I have other priorities (ehem, thesis). But special thanks to kpopchannel.tv and PKCI, I had the chance to meet him again and take good photos of him.

Last March 15, 2019, I managed to see Park Ji Hoon in his solo fan meeting here in Manila. Plus, I also get to attend the press conference. As much as I wanted to be a fangirl during the event, I can't. I was there as a media so I need to do my work.

How does it feel meeting Park Ji Hoon for the 4th time?

To be very honest, I was not as excited as I was during their first fan meeting. Maybe because I am too stressed with my thesis? Or maybe I am just too tired with my whole life. HAHA. But when he went out to meet the media for his press conference, it all sank inside me. I'm meeting Park Ji Hoon and he is just a meter away from me.



One good thing of going solo is that I get to appreciate him even more. He wasn't my bias in Wanna One so I tend to give less attention to him and focus more on my favorite member. Don't get me wrong. I love all the members of Wanna One.

I actually found myself wanting to change my Wanna One bias when I met him for the fourth time. Park Ji Hoon is very kind to everyone. As much as possible, he wanted everyone to be comfortable. Attending the press conference made me realize that there are still a lot of things that I do not know about him. And I'm happy that I get to know him even more.

The Fan Meeting gave me a Nostalgic feeling

Well, at the start of the fan meeting, Park Ji Hoon gave his own cover of Ed Sheeran's Shape of You which reminded me of Produce 101. I started imagining him being a part of Taehyun's group before and not in "Get Ugly" team. Everything would have changed. HAHA.

He even performed his favorite Wanna One songs. I'm actually tearing up a bit during that time since I miss Wanna One. That may be the reason why I got some panic attacks. But anyway, I am just so thankful that he made us remember the Produce 101 and Wanna One days.

What made this Fan Meeting special?

Aside from the fact that it is his solo fan meeting, the special thing that happened was his goodbye session. Who would have thought that his goodbye session will be the same as the ones in other country? That's when I realized that they chose a big venue because of that event.

I felt his sincerity in meeting his fans. He wanted to be closer to everyone. And that made me love him even more.

Another thing that made this fan meeting special is the people around me, fellow media, Mays, Wannables. It was like a reunion. I got to meet new friends too.

It’s funny to think that I was still able to attend Taeyeon’s concert in Manila even thought I was not able to buy tickets on the day of the ticket selling. I am very much thankful for kpopchannel.tv for this opportunity.

Like what I have said, I was not able to buy tickets during the ticket selling. But days before the concert, kpopchannel.tv asked me to cover the said event. So, I immediately grabbed the chance even if the concert falls on the same day as my thesis defense.

I was actually planning to vlog my “Thesis defense to Taeyeon’s concert” experience. Unfortunately, I was too nervous for my thesis defense that I forgot to take a video. Instead, I’ll just be sharing to you my experience through photos and the video I took for kpopchannel.tv.

Thesis Defense

Like what I have stated earlier, my thesis defense falls on the same day as Taeyeon’s concert here in Manila. So instead of being excited for the concert, I was so nervous for my presentation. Let me give you a little bit of a background with my thesis.

I am a Multimedia Arts student at Asia Pcific College. My thesis is all about promoting my hometown, Tuy, Batangas, to APC students by using illuminated paper diorama through projection mapping.

I was too nervous with this defense because a lot of people said that our panelists love to see the presenters suffer. Well, I am actually pretty confident with my project. But the problem is, I am not confident with my speaking skills.

But thanks God, I was able to finish the presentation. Although I got a lot of comments, still, I was able to finish presenting without collapsing. Lol. Anyway, after presenting, FINALLY!! I can now be excited for Taeyeon’s concert.

Taeyeon’s Concert

Ate Minsei (from kpopchannel.tv) told me that the call time for the media people was 6:30pm. I was actually nervous of not reaching on time because Ate Minsei and I met at around 5pm at Ayala for the camera and tripod.

The concert day was on a Friday. The time we met was rush hour, Ayala to Cubao is far. Plus, it’s raining!

But thankfully, I was able to reach on time.



Having no sleep because of the preparation for my thesis defense, I really feel weak even before the concert starts. If you would have seen me, you will really think that I was a zombie. Good thing, my body still managed to finish the whole concert even if I am on the standing area.

Oh, and by the way, during the start of the concert, I saw Inang, Winter, and London, in front of me. But I was not able to take a picture with them because I was too “bangag” at the moment.

Thoughts on the concert

It is already an overstatement to say this but Taeyeon is really good. I was actually not expecting much from her since I was a bit disappointed from her last performance during Best of Best 2015. But I felt that she was trying to make up from that performance that is why she interacted more with the fans.

SONEs were really cute when they are trying to keep the quietness when Taeyeon was singing. Plus, it’s cute how they call Taeyeon “beshie”. The intimate relationship between Taeyeon and SONEs was really felt.

The PH fanclub did a pretty good job preparing those fan projects. I love it especially the special banner for Taeyeon.



Regarding the staff of PULP, well, they are very organized as usual. Comparing it to DAY6’s concert in Manila, which happened on the same place, this concert was very organized.

I would love to watch Taeyeon’s concert again in the future. Though, I am lowkey hoping for a Girls Generation concert. The next time I attend Taeyeon’s concert, I would be on the seated area. I will enjoy the concert more if I am on the seated area.

DAY6 ‘Youth’ in Manila has been the talk of the town. This was the first time this Korean band performed in the Philippines. Filipino My Days have been so excited to see them and watch them perform live. They, or should I say we, have been waiting for three years.

It's almost a month since I went to Malaysia (together with Ms. Jay) to watch Wanna One "One: The World" concert there. I became sick after the travel and I have been busy with my thesis that is why I wasn't able to blog about it right away. But since I am given some extra time today, I am blogging my fangirl experience.

I've been a KPOP fan since 2009. I've known a lot of second generation KPOP groups. I honestly started with SS501 but was really addicted with Super Junior. Since Super Junior is a part of SM Entertainment, I got to know other groups of SM Entertainment. I may not be that 'ultimate fan' of those groups, but I became a silent fan.

Last November 30, I saw one of the members of the former DB5k (still OT5 by heart) who is now part of JYJ, Kim Jaejoong.

There comes a point in our lives wherein we experience this thing called “fangirling”. It is where we have this what we called our “idols” who we really like because maybe of their good looks, their talents, the way they interact with their fans, etc. And a life of a fan girl won’t simply be complete if she won’t be able to see her idols in real life (what I mean is not just on pictures or MVs)
Last April 12, 2015, Manila Concerts brought the biggest of grandest KPOP concert here in the Philippines (oh yes! I’m a KPOP fan). “BEST OF BEST KPOP IN THE PHILIPPINES 2015″ - 4 KPOP groups performed. Two of the groups were the kings and queens of KPOP, Girls’ Generation and Super Junior.
The main reason why I went there is because my bias group is there, and who is that? Of course. It is Super Junior - the first KPOP group I got addicted with.
At the moment I saw this, I can’t stop but to scream and everything. It is my very first time to see them right before my eyes. I really never expected that I will get to see them. Screams started to occur the moment they went out of the stage. Definitely, a lot of fans there were ELFs (fans of Super Junior).
And at this point in my life, I know, I have finally completed my fangirl life. Yes, seeing them completed my life as a fangirl. My heart felt the warm. I really don’t know what to feel anymore. I can still see their faces clearly (thank you for the Lower Box B Section 113 Row 9 Seat 447). In my place, definitely, I was able to see them more than I expected.
Seeing Super Junior made me cry. But so is this picture.
Surely, as a loyal ELF, I PROM15E TO 13ELIEVE and I will never leave. Like what Siwon has said before, “You don’t have to be an ELF from the start, you only have to be an ELF till the end.” And yes, I’m going to be an ELF til the end. Thank you Super Junior!
I don’t want to end this post yet, but time simply won’t let me write a little bit longer. But I would like to thank all the staff of BoB, the artists, the entertainments, the media partners, the fans who made this concert a success. You definitely brought this huge smile on my face.
