First Impressions on the New KDrama 'Train'

July 15, 2020

Fans of OCN know how good their crime-themed dramas are. Just in case you don't know, OCN is the home of the series like Voice, Tunnel, Tell Me What You Saw, Class of Lies, etc.

When OCN announced that Yoon Si Yoon will be taking the main role for "Train", I became more excited because I am an avid fan of Yoon Si Yoon. I am always excited on what role he'll be playing. For the main female lead, I made my research about her. She was part of the Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo cast. I didn't recognize her at first but when I saw her photos I got reminded of her.

Train is a sci-fi melodrama about a detective, Seo Do Won (Yoon Si Yoon), who tries to save his loved ones from a serial killer in a parallel universe. It is a 12-episode drama with running time of one hour each. First episode was released last July 11, 2020.

First Impressions

Younger version of Seo Do Won has a great resemblance with the current one

I really appreciate it when they find actors who have resemblance with each other. It makes it more realistic in a way. They both do not have double eye lids. That's probably one of their similarities. Both of them are also good in acting their character. You can feel the pain in the words they spit out or on how they cry.

Serious Yoon Si Yoon is a need

We've always seen the funny and romantic side of Yoon Si Yoon. In this drama, we're more drawn to a serious one. I really appreciate how good Yoon Si Yoon's acting is. The first two episodes got me teary-eyed whenever he cries. My heart aches for him.

His acting was so realistic that you can really feel the pain and guilt he is feeling. I am excited to see how he'll be acting as the Seo Do Won in World B since we only got a few glance of his other character on the last few minutes of Episode 2.

Excitement at every scene can be expected

With just the first two episodes, my excitement, fear, and everything, is exploding. I feel like I don't even want to blink because I might miss a good scene. Yes, that's how good the first two episodes were. The story was still building up but it already got my attention.

I actually got shocked with this part and I almost threw my phone. The actor who plays this role is also good. I still wonder what his future role will be and why he buries those dead people.

The video is a bit dark so I had to increase the brightness of my phone. I really like the difference of the colors of the video when they are in World A and World B. You can really differentiate it.

Will I continue watching it?

Definitely YES! So far, I'm really enjoying it. The flow of the story is well-planned. I still have a lot of questions and I'm expecting it to be answered in the next episodes. I just hope that the next episodes were as intense as this one so that I won't get bored. I'll be writing my final review once this drama ends.

You can watch it via Viu or iQIYI. I'm already excited for the next episodes!
