Netflix Seoul Vibe Garage Party was the first ever Netflix offline event that I have attended. Since this is my first time, I'll be sharing to you my experience.

An Introvert Fangirl attending a Party

When they said that it's a garage party, it's really a party with food, drinks, and music. The cool thing here is that they really made the place look like a garage in the 80s. And yes, it really looks like the one in the movie.

As an introvert, attending parties is not really my thing. But good thing, I met some known faces in the K-media world so the whole event felt a little bit better. Also, I am so thankful for Mikay for always pushing me to do things that I don't usually do like taking photos of myself during the event, vlogging, or just being a little bit extroverted.

Since I am used to with attending press conferences, or some other media related events, I was expecting for a longer program. But I guess this event was really a party.

At first, they showed some trailers on the screen regarding their upcoming movie, Seoul Vibe. After that they also showed a short preview of the Tagalog dubbed of the movie which I find it quite interesting. That's why I'm so excited to watch the movie. After that, there were people who danced to KPOP songs. And lastly, a DJ played some KPOP mixes. I was thrilled when I hear familiar songs on the mixes especially when Girls' Generation's Gee was played. As a second generation fan, it's definitely one of the songs that I really love.

But what I loved the most during the event was there were a lot of photographers there wherein you can ask them to take a photo of you at the place and have it printed for free.

Like what I have mentioned earlier, there were also food and drinks. The food were mainly Korean food. In fact, Mikay and I were actually craving for Korean food. So, the food there satisfied our cravings.

There were a lot of influencers and TikTok personalities there. To be honest, I felt really shy when I saw them because they really look so confident with what they're doing. Meanwhile me, I'm so shy to even just take a photo with the Netflix logo. I guess I still need to improve myself regarding this.

We went home at around 8:30PM. There was a Netflix package given per outlet. But I managed to see what's inside the package. Check out my unboxing here:

Overall, it was a nice and cool event. It's just that my introvert self needs to go home early. Thank you Netflix and Mikay for this experience.

Seoul Vibe

Seoul Vibe is a South Korean movie which will be released on Netflix this August 26, 2022. The main casts are Yoo Ah In, Ko Gyung Pyo, Lee Kyung Hyung, Ong Seong Wu, and Park Ju Hyun. It is about a group of drivers from Sanggye Supreme Team who received an offer to be part of a VIP slush fund investigation.

My Experience Watching Seventeen Power of Love The Movie at SM Batangas

This is the first ever event that I have attended as a Carat. As you all know, I started becoming a fan of Seventeen in 2020 and eventually became even more active in 2021. But since those were pandemic days, I wasn't able to attend any Seventeen-related event. That's why watching Seventeen Power of Love The Movie at SM Batangas is a special thing for me.

Days before Power of Love The Movie

Seventeen Power of Love The Movie was released April 20. But since it's on a weekday and the cinema is a bit far from my place, I decided to just watch it on the 23rd, together with a friend. So, days before the 23rd, I was so busy doing some freebies.

These are fanmade photocards and stickers. The photos used were their promotional photos for Darling and Power of Love. I only made 40 packs of these freebies wherein one pack consists of two random photocards and two random stickers. So, it will be a little bit thrilling when you open it.

I actually didn't expect for my Caratbong to arrive this fast. I ordered this from kpopmerch.ph on Shopee last April 15 and it arrived at my place last April 22. It's definitely under a fast ETA. It's my first time buying from kpopmerch.ph and I really had a great experience with them. I might buy my future merch with them too.

Anyway, now that I'm holding my own Caratbong, I can say that it's definitely the prettiest lightstick I have. It's not that I'm biased because Seventeen is currently my priority right now, but I have a lot of reasons to say why this lightstick is the best. I love the colors. These are actually my favorite colors. Aside from that, the diamond looks so good there. Plus, you can design your own caratbongs.

But since I lack time, I wasn't able to design it. I just let it as it is.

Power of Love The Movie D-Day

SM Batangas is actually quite far from our place. It's probably a 2-hour travel. I decided to just drive instead of commuting since my friend and I are going to our high school reunion after.

After arriving at SM Batangas, we already saw some Carats outside the Cinema. So, I gave them some freebies and also ended up having a photo with them.

I love how we easily interacted even if it's our first time to meet. But then, I realized we were on a different cinema. They are on Cinema 3 while Joyce and I are in Cinema 2. But still, it's fun to meet fellow Carats.

Of course, it's also a must to take a photo with my bias. I really miss you Wonwoo. I know you need more time and I will wait for you until you're ready. You don't need to rush.

The Movie

Well, it's a bit different from BTS The Movie before. Because for BTS, it was really all about the behind-the-scenes of their concert. But for this one, it's more of the performances from the online concert plus interviews. The difference that I noticed was the performances here had a different camera shots. But the line-up was still the same. As far as I can remember.

I am still happy that I heard Imperfect Love. I really love DK's voice. If given the chance, I would really want DK to sing in my wedding (if ever I'll get married lol). I somehow felt like it was a concert. But of course, nothing can be compared with an offline concert. I really hope I can meet them soon!

K-Pop Fan Attends 2022 P-Pop Convention

Ever since the pandemic happened, mass gatherings were not allowed. Meaning, offline events like concerts and conventions were put to stop. But recently, the Philippines was placed in Alert Level 1 allowing some mass gatherings as long as they follow the protocol. That's why the 2022 P-Pop Convention finally happened.

If you have been following this blog, you will know that I am a lowkey fan of P-Pop. My interest in P-Pop started with SB19, until it bloomed with BGYO and BINI. At first, I was really hesitant to become a fan of P-Pop groups. I don't know, maybe because of my pride as a K-Pop fan? But little did I know that I will get interested with these P-Pop groups.

My Experience Attending 2022 P-Pop Convention

DAY 1 - Convention

It's been a long time since I attended a convention as a normal person. Usually, during KPOPCONs, I am part of the staff so I am more focused on the program rather than being a fan. Although this time, I was there to promote KMall Philippines (under Oppa Is Life), I still get to enjoy the convention as a fan.

Just like KPOPCONs, there are also fanclub booths, stage performances, and raffles. The only difference is that the P-POP groups were allowed to visit their respective fanclub booths. KPOPCONs usually don't have K-Pop artists, or if they do have, they are not allowed to visit the booths since it will cause chaos.

The booths that I visited the most are KMall Philippines, BGYO x ACEs, and PPOPCON booths. But I also tried to roam around other fandoms' booths to see how big their fandoms are.

One of the special moments in this convention is that, you get to see some P-Pop groups perform. Most of them are rookies actually. But even though they are rookies, I can say that they came prepared. Yes, I was shocked with their performances especially for VXON, KAIA, and G22.

COMMENTS ON THE CONVENTION

I actually enjoyed the convention because of the people around me. But this event still needs some improvement in terms of the rules, programs, and venue.

For the rules, my only problem was the "re-entry policy". Before the event, as far as I know, re-entry is allowed. But during the event, it wasn't, which made it hard for me since I also need to eat. The food booths there cannot satisfy me since I need some rice meals.

For the program, honestly, even though I enjoyed the performances, I felt a bit bored. I don't know what part made me bored but there's something missing. Or maybe it's just the energy?

For the venue, I don't think New Frontier is a good place for a convention because of its floor style. It's a bit steep making the booths a bit slanted. Also, there are few spaces between the booths making it hard to walk especially when you're in front of a big fandom.

But for a first P-Pop Convention, it's already good. Hoping to see more improvements on the future conventions.

DAY 2 - Concert

It's been a long time since I last attended a concert in Araneta Coliseum. I guess the last time I attended a concert in Araneta Coliseum was during DAY6 'Gravity' in Manila? In fact, the first concert that entered my mind was actually Stray Kids' concert. That's how lost I am with my concert experiences.

But it's definitely a long time since I had an upperbox seat for a concert. Since I usually take the VIP seats or the media seats. I actually have no money for this concert because I recently quit my job and I'm just starting my own small business. But a friend sponsored me a ticket for this event. That's why I'm so thankful.

The concert started at around 3:15pm which is early for a concert. But since there are a lot of groups performing, it really needs to start early. The host for the event is VJ Ai Dela Cruz, a MYX host. I can say that she is the most suitable host for this event. Her energy is so good, plus, she knows a lot about these P-Pop groups. I really hope that she will be the hosts too in the future.

KAIA, G22, VXON

The event opened with explosive performances from these rookie P-Pop groups, KAIA, G22, and VXON. Like what I have mentioned earlier, these groups are really impressive. They have the talent and the looks. If I didn't made a research about them, I would think that they have debut for quite some time. I would really love to see more of their performances soon!

4TH IMPACT

This is not my first time seeing them and hearing them perform. In fact, when I was in high school, I had the chance to perform on the same event with them. I met them during rehearsals and on the event itself. The second time I met them was during the Superstar K6 audition in Manila.

I'm so happy to see them again, tho. And I can say that their performance during the concert was a blast! Especially the Greatest Showman medley. I also felt some goosebumps when they asked to turn on our flashlights while they perform.

PRESS HIT PLAY - PHP

One of the kindest and one of the most humble P-Pop groups I met. I actually knew PHP way before they debuted since most of them are from cover groups. They also perform during our events. Back then, I already like them. That's why when I heard that they will be debuting with the title track "WIN" I really supported them.

Their performance during the concert was the most touching performance. In fact, I really cried so hard during their performance. Not just one tear, but I really cried. It's finally coming. They're slowly reaching their dreams. And I'm so happy that they didn't give up. I will continue supporting them because they deserve it.

BINI

My babies. Just in case you didn't know, well, I used to edit some of their vlogs. Although I have only worked with them personally one time, I still consider them as my babies. I love their outfit! They look so gorgeous, especially my bias Colet. But I felt that their time was a bit short. I don't know why. But I really enjoyed their performance!

1ST.ONE

I have heard of their group but to be honest, I haven't heard any of their songs. I don't even know the members. But they somehow reminded me of the second gen K-Pop groups during their debut. The vibes, the outfit, the way the perform.

ALAMAT

I'm sorry but Alamat is one of the P-Pop groups that I misjudged. I actually watched their music videos and listened to their songs. They really didn't give me a great impact. But when I saw them perform live, I realized that they were good performers and the song that I didn't like when I first heard it was not really that bad after all. Now, I can say that Alamat has a potential since their vibes are what Filipinos usually like.

Oh and by the way, I'm a bit eyeing on Taneo since he looks like one of my favorite Chinese actors from Prince of Tennis, Zhang Yi Jie.

BGYO

Of course, the main reason why I attended this event, for BGYO. I am really proud of their performance as a whole because I felt that they were enjoying their stage. I didn't get any nervous feeling from them. I love how playful they are during their ments. I actually like their song setlist.

My only comment was I didn't like their outfits much (I'm sorry Sir Danyl!) I know they look expensive and their outfits are expensive but I was looking forward for a more concert-type of clothes? The ones they were wearing suits more on an award show or an event that has a red carpet on it. But still, they nailed their look.

MNL48

One of the groups that has a great stage presence. Maybe because they have been performing for a lot of times already. But I really liked these girls energy and stage presence. They know how to hype the crowd. I don't know any of their songs but they made me feel like I know them.

SB19

Of course, this event will not be complete without SB19! Gosh! Their performance was really good I felt like I was watching a concert of my favorite K-Pop group. Their energy from the start was already high and it keeps on going up. They were even better from the last time I got to watch them (I guess that was Happy Hallyu 3?)

I also love their wardrobe. Come on! Whoever gave Stell that kind of outfit, I love you. He really looks so good there! I was just a bit bothered with Pablo's hair but he still nailed it.

I knew SB19 since their start. I even attended their first free fan meeting. During that time, I was really sad because it was a free event yet only few showed up. But now, they can even fill this whole coliseum. I'm so happy for their success.

I love that they ended the concert with all the groups on stage. Whenever I watch K-Pop concerts with a lot of groups, they never come back on stage together. I'm so happy that in this P-Pop Convention, they ended the concert well. I'm so happy to see the groups' interactions too.

The concert lasted for about 5-6 hours? It was really a long concert. It was tiring but it was a fun one. I am looking forward for the next PPOPCON.

After Concert

After the concert, I went back to the hotel to fix some things before going to the ACEs meetup. I didn't know that the artists are having an after party in the hotel so I met a lot of them at the lobby.

I was able to have a photo with BINI Stacey and Colet. I wanted to have a photo with Jhoanna, and other BINI members too though but they were a bit busy with some other people there.

The next day, I was able to get a photo with BGYO JL, Mikki, and Gelo.

These are my babies. I am their "Ate Ruthie" except that JL never calls me that. Haha.

I was tired but I can definitely say that I had fun. I can't wait to see P-Pop rise more. I hope they'll continue to improve song-wise and performance-wise. Thank you so much for making this P-POP Convention happen! Until next event!

My Experience Attending CARATLAND 2022

CARATLAND is definitely one of the most awaited event of Seventeen and Carats. Not only because it's a fan meeting but also because Carats will get to see special performances (like the reverse performances) from Seventeen. But what made this year's CARATLAND more special is that after a long period, it will be held offline!

Seventeen CARATLAND 2022 happened this March 25-27. The whole three nights were held offline but on the third day, they also had a livestream wherein international fans (like me) can watch.

My Experience Attending CARATLAND 2022

Caratland Day 1

I've been emotionally stressed these past days that I even forgot that CARATLAND starts on the 25th of March. Good thing, I was able to check Twitter and got reminded of the event. Since there was no livestream for the first and second day of Caratland, all I can do is to wait for fancams.

There were also kind Korean Carats who shared an audio stream for international fans like me. Although we know it's not really allowed, but as a fan, I also want to be updated real-time. The funny part of being in an audio stream is that when the Korean Carat put his/her phone inside her bag, I can also here the sounds of his/her things clashing on each other.

During the first day, I was really crying because after a long time, I felt this jealousness in me because I badly wanted to be in the offline event too. I missed attending concerts. I missed being part of the crowd.

Caratland was held in an open venue since the pandemic is still here. But during the first day, it rained. Although they had their raincoats, they'll still get wet. I can still remember my experience during MTV Music Evolution in Manila last 2016.

Seventeen's performances were even more intense since it's raining. Wonwoo even removed his shoes while dancing because it's slippery. Some of them slipped during their performances. Good thing no one was badly hurt.

But you know what made me fell in love with them even more? It's when they were told to sit down near the covered area so that they won't get rained on but they ended up pulling their chairs nearer to the fans because they wanted to see them more. Plus, if the fans are willing to get rained on what more Seventeen, right?

I used this photo as my lockscreen wallpaper to remind myself that if Seventeen is willing to get rained on just to see their fans closely, then I shouldn't settle with someone who can't even give me the bare minimum whether it be on another idol or life in general.

Caratland Day 2

The set list was almost the same except that on this day they performed "To You". This time, they performed it with the whole members. Jun and The8 were not present in their performances before because they went back to China for a short while.

I wasn't able to listen much during Day 2 because I was attending a wedding of a relative. I just waited for the fancams and fan tweets. Good thing Day 2 wasn't raining.

Caratland Day 3

This is finally the day that I can watch them. Although it's still not in person, but at least there's a video now. I can finally see the VCRs and their whole performances. I'm really excited to see the Light a Flame 97z version. To be honest, this whole Caratland I was wrecked by DK and Mingyu.

The subtitles were a bit late since it's live but I'm happy that I was able to understand some parts. I still need to study Korean more.

This is me taking a selfie while watching. Oh yes, I made sure that it's Wonwoo on the frame because he is my bias in Seventeen. I used my tablet instead of my computer so that I can go around the house while watching it.

I don't have a caratbong with me since I haven't bought one. But I'm planning to buy soon since S.Coups mentioned that they will be having a world tour soon.

Fans were actually speculating that the world tour will start on September since Hoshi mentioned three different months - April, wherein they'll have a pre-release song, May, their comeback, and September, without any other details.

If this is real, I hope that there will be a PH stop and also I hope I can attend. I'll make sure I'll attend! I'll make sure I'll see them complete before they start their military service.

Although I have listened to their setlist for the past two days, I still felt excited while watching Day 3 of Caratland. During the photo opportunity, they mentioned that those who are watching online should take a selfie with them. So, I did. Excuse my haggard face.

The event lasted for more than four hours! Which really shocked me. This is how long fan meetings are in South Korea. I can still remember I wrote a blog before comparing the fan meeting in South Korea and in the Philippines.

Favorite Parts in Caratland 2022

Run To You

Run To You is definitely one of my favorite Seventeen songs. That's why I am so happy that this was a part of the set list. I was able to hear it for the whole three days of Caratland.

Light A Flame 97z

Oh come on, this is probably one of the hottest performances in the whole Caratland 2022. Everyone definitely swerved lanes because of this performance. Mingyu singing Wonwoo's part was definitely great! Words can't explain how much I love this performance.

Wonwoo Dumb Dumb

So the reason why they asked before on Weverse what song doesn't suit the members was because it will be used for Caratland. Wonwoo actually got Dumb Dumb. And after the games, he was chosen to dance or perform a song that doesn't suit him. But come on, Wonwoo is so adorable in this performance.

The8 Horangi Power

We all know that The8 is one of Hoshi's basher (in a funny way tho) and he hates it when Hoshi considers himself as a Tiger. So what more if he's going to perform Hoshi's Tiger Power? But it's really cute! I love this performance!

The whole three days of Caratland 2022 was indeed a very special moment for me. While watching or listening, I was also spazzing with my Carat friend. I really can't wait to see Seventeen soon. And when that time comes, I hope my love for them is still burning like what I'm feeling right now.

My First Event this 2021: SMTOWN LIVE 'Culture Humanity'

I never thought that my first event in 2021 and my first SMTOWN concert is an online event. It has been months since this pandemic stopped the entertainment industry in producing offline concerts. A lot of scheduled concerts and fanmeets have been postponed indefinitely or worse, cancelled. That is why a lot of companies now are shifting to the online concerts, in the meantime.

SM Entertainment is actually one of the first companies to shift to the online concerts through the Beyond Live. Their concerts were actually paid and a lot of fans are actually willing to pay for it because they really miss attending concerts. But around December 2020, SM Entertainment announced that they will be holding a FREE concert, and that is the SMTOWN LIVE "Culture Humanity".

This free concert happened last January 1, 1PM KST, which featured different SM Artists' performances including aespa, NCT Dream, NCT127, NCT U, WayV, Red Velvet, EXO Baekhyun, EXO Kai, SHINee Taemin, SNSD Taeyeon, SuperM, Super Junior, and Kangta. There were also DJs present in the concert - Raiden, GINJO, and IMLAY. It was streamed

According to Lee Sooman, the main reason why SM Entertainment decided to conduct this free concert is to give hope and cheer to the KPOP fans who went through a lot because of the pandemic. One of the main points at the start of the concert were the phrases, "Be kind, be humble, be the love." We definitely need this to start the year well.

I was actually watching the concert on our TV during the first part because I was eating lunch with my family. In fact, when my mom saw NCT Dream's performance, she immediately noticed Jaemin's visual. And of course, since Jaemin is my bias, I kept on promoting him. Aside from that, I also showed her D&E's performance.

After a few performances, I decided to watch on my laptop so that I can have a little privacy - fangirling. That's also when I put some batteries on my Super Junior lightstick so that I can somehow feel that I am really watching a concert.

Aside from the performances, what made me excited was the SHINee is Back 2021 video teaser. SHINee is definitely one of the best KPOP groups there. Their vocals and dancing skills are so stable. I am really excited for SHINee's comeback, and also, I miss you Jonghyun.

For those who don't know, I started as an SM stan. I was very much aware of the SMTOWN concerts. I badly wanted to attend one not only because Super Junior is there, but also I love to see the interactions between different SM artists. This concert somehow lacked the interaction, of course, for health and safety purposes but I hope I can still see it in the future.

In the last part of the concert, SM artists sang H.O.T.'s song, "Hope". This is probably the part where I suddenly wanted to cry. The memories came back when I was just a new KPOP fan. It has been years already and I am just so happy that I became part of this family. There may be times wherein I hated SM for how they treated their artists, but I still love them because they brought these artists to me.

This concert recorded 35,830,000 streams in 186 countries. The hashtag #SMTOWN_LIVE also became the trending topic on Twitter. It only shows how happy the fans are with this free concert. Thank you so much SM Entertainment for this concert. Hoping we'll get to meet live soon once everything goes back to normal.

Noona Fan Attended NCT DREAM SHOW in Manila Unexpectedly + Memorable Moments

First of all, I am not posting this one to boast, instead, I am posting it to share how thankful I am for this unexpected happening.

Last 2019, NCT Dream first came to Manila for the Friendship Concert which was held at the MOA Arena. I was lucky enough to see them, not only on stage, but also during the press conference. One of the most memorable happenings there was Jaemin (my bias) looked and smiled at my camera.

Early this 2020 (if I am not mistaken), PULP Live World hass announced that NCT DREAM is coming back to Manila for their solo concert. And yes, this time, Haechan will be present. As you have noticed on the picture above, Haechan was not present because he was taking a break due to his injury.

STORY TIME...

I planned on not attending NCT Dream's concert in Manila. Main reason? I have no money to buy their ticket since Php 5,000 was the cheapest ticket price and I can only afford around Php 2,000. Since I already met them last 2019, I know I am already satisfied with it.

My plans for the weekend were to go to my classmate's house for a sleepover, meet my GOT7 Squad since one of us will be attending NCT Dream's concert, another sleepover with them, and the trip to Enchanted Kingdom with the GOT7 Squad.

But things did not go the way we planned. Because of the NCOV, one of my friends from GOT7 Squad (the same person who was suppose to watch NCT Dream) was not able to fly to Manila because her parents did not allow her. Because she was sad that she wouldn't be able to meet us (she's from Cebu by the way), she forgot everything about her ticket.

The next day, Saturday, we were chatting with each other until we reached the point were I asked her if she will not sell her ticket for NCT Dream. It costs her around Php 8,000+ and yet she won't get to attend.

But instead of selling the ticket, she just transferred it to me. Good thing TicketNet's ticket can be printed at home. She told me that it will just be her early graduation gift for me. It was already around 12nn by the time we have decided that I'll be attending on her behalf. Since the concert starts at 3PM, I immediately prepared myself and went straight to New Frontier Theater for the concert. Good thing, I arrived an hour earlier.

Memorable Moments during the Concert

There are actually a lot of memorable moments during the concert but I just chose my top three.

1. NCT Dream speaking Tagalog in the cutest way possible

I know NCT Dream is cute but I never knew they could be much cuter. My noona heart is definitely shaking at those moments. Not only did they speak Tagalog during their opening segment, but they keep on speaking Tagalog even at the very last segment which they barely did during Friendship Concert.

2. NCT Dream showcasing their talents

We all know how talented these boys are. But they proved that they could go higher than that. Haechan's high notes are still playing inside my head. This was the first time I heard Haechan's high notes live and yes, he is singing them live.

Another one was Chenle's piano skills. When he was doing some embellishments, I suddenly remembered the time I used to play the piano. I can say that he is way better than me. I would love to attend Chenle's piano recital if that happens one day.

Another talent that I saw was Jaemin's ability to create and produce his own video. During the last part of the concert, Jaemin mentioned that he has a gift for the fans and it was a video that he made himself. Although some parts of the video had sound problems, I still enjoyed its concept.

I also noticed Renjun's acting skills during the VCRs. I hope one day I'll get to see him on a web drama or even a TV drama.

3. NCT Dream melting my heart because of their visuals

I am a Jaemin-biased when I entered New Frontier Theater but my baby Jisung caught my attention the whole concert. He's growing up too well! I can't believe that he was that cute child in Chewing Gum. To be honest, he was the most handsome for me that night.

But still, I'll end up with my original bias, Jaemin. His smile will always pull me back. That smile was the main reason why I ended up liking him so much. Just a backstory, the members that I was really looking forward to see was Jeno and Jisung because they are known to be the "Little EunHae". But when Chewing Gum was released, Jaemin's smile caught me.

I don't know if I'll get to see them again soon, and I don't know if there will be a new line-up of NCT Dream soon, but still I'm thankful that I have met them and been able to be a part of this concert.

Super thankful for Ate Chol for giving me her ticket instead of selling it to me. I am sad that you weren't able to see NCT Dream (and of course, US, GOT7 Squad T_T), but I know God has a better plan. See you next year in Korea!

My unforgettable meeting with Kim Myung Soo

It took me quite a while to finish writing this blog because I still can’t find the right words to explain how I truly felt that night. To be very honest, I never expected this kind of blessing. All I wanted was just to see Kim Myung Soo and be able to touch his hand.

Pre-Fanmeet Story

I was still a bit hyped during mid-2019 because I just finished Kim Myung Soo’s latest drama, “Angel’s Last Mission: Love”.It was the first Kim Myung Soo drama that I watched. I am not a fan of Infinite, although I know them. I was never a fan of Kim Myung Soo, too, because I felt like he was too overrated and too handsome that a lot of people already like him.

But somehow, I ate everything I said in the past. I fell in love with Kim Myung Soo with that drama. Few months later, CDM Entertainment just announced that Kim Myung Soo is having his fan meeting in Manila this 2020. And since I am a new fan, I wanted to see him badly.

Ticketing day was the same day as DAY6 Gravity in Manila. Good thing, CDM offered help to those who cannot buy on TicketNet outlets and online. So, they were the one who helped me buy my ticket. Since I was not that prepared with his fan meeting, I just bought the cheapest ticket. The important thing is that all tickets have hitouch. So, I’ll still get to meet him closely.

A few weeks later, a friend of mine from Myung Soo’s local fanbase messaged me if I know someone who can edit a video. I don’t know what entered my mind, but I volunteered to do their video -something that stressed me a lot during the Holiday vacation. Not because I don’t know how to make a video, but because I was too pressured that I must make a beautiful video.

After all the crashing of my laptop programs, crying at night because it took hours before it finishes rendering, everything went well. It was approved by the management and somehow, I felt a bit relieved. Now, I can just focus on attending the fan meeting.

Days before the fan meeting, I was contacted by CDM Entertainment asking if I could be their photographer for the fan meeting. And without any hesitation, I said yes. And that caused another stress on my part. First reason – I can’t be a fan that night. Second reason – I won’t get to hitouch Kim Myung Soo. Third reason – this will be my first Korean event as a main photographer, so it means, I really need to do a good job.

D-DAY

I arrived at Cubao around 12:30PM. I went to Novotel first to attend Kim Myung Soo’s press conference under Philippine Concerts. While waiting for Kim Myung Soo, the feels are already rising to my heart. I am excited to see him. A few minutes later, he arrived. And girl, I was really amazed with his visuals. His skin tone was different from other Korean artists I met. I can’t really stop smiling ever since he entered.

After the press conference, I decided to meet my friends and have lunch with them at Kko Kko, just near New Frontier Theater. And guess what, Kim Myung Soo just passed by not only once, but twice. He has bodyguards with him but he keeps on roaming around the place.

Few hours later, the fans started entering the venue and the fan meeting started. I will no longer write what happened during the fan meet since I wasn't focusing that much. I was just taking photos.

There's just one rant that I wanted to post here. A lot of people say that looking young is a good thing. But in my case, no. It's not a good thing. The bodyguards, the Koreans, and a lot of people question my credibility. It's as if I am not worthy of being a photographer because I look young, and I look like a fan. If that will be the mindset of people, then I will no longer be hired.

But good thing, CDM Entertainment doesn't look at the physical appearance but on the quality of work. That's why I appreciate them so much.

Anyway, during the fan project VCR. I was a bit nervous. But Myungsoo suddenly sang to the background music. And my heart melted. He even said that it was a beautiful video. To be honest, I was not satisfied with what I did. I mean, I know I can do more if only I have enough resources. But I'm happy that he liked it and it was successful.

A fan-made video was also shown on screen that showed Pinoy fans’ love for him. Fans also held banners that read “The wait is over. I am coming to you now,” a project of fan bases Infinite PH-Beyond Infinite PH, Kim Myungsoo Philippines and MyungYeol Philippines. He described it as “beautiful video. Thank you for the love you’ve shown me.” - Manila Bulletin

Okay. Fast forward to the end of the fan meeting. Because Taal Volcano erupted, the fan benefits were a bit fast than the usual because we have to make sure that everybody can go home safe. At the end of all the photo opportunity, I GOT A SELFIE WITH KIM MYUNG SOO.

Super thankful to Ate Mina and CDM Entertainment for giving me the opportunity to be their official photographer tonight. Back story: After ALL the photo ops, kuya wilson (the other official photog) and I suddenly joked. "Us? Us?" Jokingly asking Kim Myungsoo for a photo with us. Then he went near us and said "come on come on"

I WASN'T PREPARED THAT'S WHY THE PHOTO WAS BLURREEEEDD AAAAAAHHHHHHH BUT WHO CARES OUR FACES ARE STILL VISIBLE!

Before the start of the fan meeting, I was sad because I won't get to have hitouch with Kim Myungsoo. But I ended up having a photo with him. Oh and not to mention, he was actually hugging me that time. Complete package. I don't know what to feel that time. I am happy. Very happy. But also, I feel a little guilt since I am just a new fan and I don't know if I deserve this.

The things that I never experienced with some of my favorite artists, I got to experience with Kim Myung Soo. And I am more than thankful for that. It will truly be an unforgettable moment and I will treasure it forever!

Lee Dong Wook's 20th Anniversary Fan Meeting in South Korea

How does it really feel to meet your long-time idol?

I have been a fan of Lee Dong Wook since "My Girl" era. He first visited the Philippines last 2006. I was just 10 years old by then so I was not allowed to go to Manila and see him. And besides, I wasn't interested in seeing my idols before. All I know that time is I need to study.

After 13 years, Lee Dong Wook once again visited the Philippines. This time, it's for a free event by KTO Manila. I still tried my luck to be part of the 100 lucky fans who'll get to see him up-close.

Unfortunately, I did not get any email. I planned on attending the event even if I am on the second floor. But, the calltime for Good Friends in Manila concert is the same time with his event. So, I wasn't able to attend.

Thanks to kpopchannel.tv, I was able to at least see him in the airport. Lee Dong Wook arrived almost the same time as Ha Sungwoon (he will be performing at the Good Friends in Manila). Because I only saw him for a short time, I was eager to see him again.

King Kong by Starship, Lee Dong Wook's agency, has announced that he is having his fan meeting in Korea to celebrate his 20th Anniversary since debut. Because our extended stay in South Korea was approved, my friend and I was able to attend his fan meeting in South Korea.

THE VENUE

2019 Lee Dong Wook Fan Meeting I'M WOOK was held at the Kyung Hee University's Grand Palace. This venue is quite familiar for me. I have seen it in some KDRAMAs like "About Time" and "Clean with Passion for Now".

Aside from that, a lot of fan meetings were also held here, so it's really familiar to me.

How to go to Kyung Hee University Grand Palace

(Note: This is how we did it and I would appreciate if you have an easier way.)

We went down to Hankuk Univ. of Foreign Studies station (위대앞) Exit 1. It is in Line 1.
After that, we checked our maps and just walked for around 10 minutes.
We have finally arrived.

The hardest part in going to the venue is it's a little bit steep. But going back, it's easier. A lot of people say, you can also go down to Hoegi Station, just a station away from Hankuk Univ. of Foreign Studies, and ride a bus.

We first claimed our tickets at the designated booth and waited to go inside the venue.

This is Ms. Jay, the friend that I am referring to earlier. She is the one who bought our tickets for the fan meeting. We looked so tired here because of walking. lol

After a few minutes of waiting and looking for freebies, we went inside the venue. And this is how it looks like.

You can immediately see Lee Dong Wook's big banner. And when you continue walking, you're gonna see more banners of Lee Dong Wook at the side.

The place is really nice. A lot of people may have attended but it's not that crowded. We decided to enter the hall to find our seats. When entering, the staff gave us some freebies and those freebies were really cool! I will be posting a more detailed info about these freebies in the later part of this blog.

I really feel so excited entering the venue because it's gonna be my first time attending a fan meeting in Korea. How does fan meetings work in Korea? Is it the same like in the Philippines? Those were the things that entered my mind.

Here is our view from our seats. Since we bought tickets late, we were quite far from the stage. But you can still clearly see him. I felt like I was attending a fan meeting at the New Frontier Theater.

The program started with Lee Dong Wook roaming around the whole venue, giving roses, and started wearing his coat. He really wants to make this fan meeting an intimate one.

Unfortunately, this photo was against the light so you can only see a silhouette of Lee Dong Wook. But yes, we were close to him. A few minutes later, he went on stage and bowed down to everyone, including the second floor.

There were times in the fan meeting that I can't laugh with them because I didn't understand what they said. But there were times that I understood something. Especially when he was announcing that he is going to have his first talk show.

The whole fan meeting lasted for about 3-4 hours? Yes. It was THAT long.

Difference between PH and Korea Fan Meeting

These were the things I noticed.

The ticket price were cheaper. (of course, duh!)

The common price of a fan meeting here was around 2500-13,000 PHP. Meanwhile, here, it's just around 3000 PHP (all seats). Well, of course, it's in South Korea! They don't need to travel too far and book hotel and stuff like that, that's why it's cheaper. That's why living in South Korea is fun if you're a fan. You have easier access to your favorite artists.

The staff never checks your bag when entering the venue.

In the Philippines, you need to have your bags checked before entering the venue. Sometimes, big bags aren't even allowed. But here, I can clearly see some big bags and they won't be checking it when you enter. They will just tell you the rules and that's it. That may be the reason why there was no long lines when entering the venue.

The fans were not too loud but you can feel how much they love the artist.

Okay. In this part, I somehow missed the Filipino fans' screams. The fans during this fan meeting barely scream. Well, they do from time to time but not all throughout the event. It was really like a meeting where Dong Wook is our head. But you know what I liked about this one, I can appreciate Dong Wook more because it was a bit calm there. I can hear all the things he is saying, and even the songs he performs.

The fans can just talk to the artist as if they were just friends.

I remember when the crowd was quiet and a fan shouted something to Lee Dong Wook. Then Lee Dong Wook had a short conversation with her. I was amazed how that works. Like, can I also shout and talk to him? Unfortunately, I didn't understand what they were talking about so I'd rather just keep my mouth shut. lol.

In the Philippines, you can't simply talk to the artist like that. The artist won't hear you. I can still remember how Park Bo Gum once tried to talk to the fan asking her name during a segment in his fan meeting in Manila. But they weren't able to talk with each other.

The fan meeting itself was a fan meeting.

There were a lot of fan interactions which was way different in the Philippines. In the Philippines, it's either a talk show where the emcee will get to ask questions to the artist, a game segment where the artist plays with himself, or a fan meeting that has more performances than the actual fan interaction.

The fan meeting in Korea is what I can say the true fan meeting. There were a lot of fan interactions. Lee Dong Wook tried to accommodate everyone and really showed how thankful he is for the past 20 years.

The fan meeting was LONG!

Like what I have mentioned earlier, it lasted for about 3-4 hours. In the Philippines, you're considered lucky if the fan meeting lasted for 3 hours.

Before I end this blog post, I'll be sharing to you the freebies that I got from this fan meeting.

The bag consists of a Peach Water, a photocard with a discount coupon, a customized enamel pin, a puzzle board, a post card with Lee Dong Wook's message. The banner and photocards (I forgot to add the photocards on the pic) were actually from his fansite. (By the way, I love the Peach Water, it tastes really good).

My whole experience was really great and I am looking forward to attend more fan meetings in Korea. I promise, by then, I'll understand what they're saying. lol. Another dream come true for a fangirl like me.
